Autorská publikácia Kataríny Poliačikovej DEŇ vznikla ako súčasť projektu Krehký archív, ktorým si GMB pripomína 60. výročie svojho vzniku. Kurátorka projektu Zuzana Jakalová usilovala o zachovanie princípu nehierarchickej pozornosti voči galérii. Cieľom autorky publikácie Kataríny Poliačikovej bolo nasledovať tento princíp a vnímať všetky vrstvy a príbehy spojené s galériou ako rovnocenné. Zachytáva paralelné, nenápadné až intímne histórie umeleckej inštitúcie a prostredníctvom umeleckého prístupu dopĺňa oficiálny príbeh Galérie mesta Bratislavy z prístupnej, doposiaľ nevidenej perspektívy. Fotografická esej zobrazuje každodennosť v galérii, ktorej súčasťou sú umelci a umelkyne, zamestnankyne a zamestnanci, návštevníci, a v neposlednom rade aj život galerijnej vegetácie.

Julian Rose speaks with the filmmaker Matt Wolf about his latest documentary, Spaceship Earth (2020), which follows the people who created Biosphere 2 in 1991. And Antwaun Sargent traces Black queer artists' journeys into immersive desire. "The utopian imagination tends to stir when the world feels simultaneously wrecked and malleable," the writer Chris Jennings notes, in a series of reflections by writers such as Olivia Laing and Nicole R. Fleetwood. Notions of utopia shouldn't be restricted to the fantasy of a fully realized ideal society, or the outsize, often failed, sometimes disastrous schemes and social experiments of the past. Instead, we might consider utopia a mode of vision and thought that shields us from hopelessness.

Po více než dvaceti letech vychází teprve druhá kniha brněnského fotografa Jaroslava Pulicara (*1954). Autor je jeden z nejméně známých ze známých českých dokumentaristů. Jeho práce je známa jen několika málo zasvěceným. Autorových výstav bychom spočítali na prstech jedné ruky a textů zabývajících se hlouběji jeho prací máme k dispozici ještě méně. Dlouho zvažuje, jestli některou fotografii vypustí do světa. Ví, jak dělat to, co ho baví: být na cestě, fotografovat černobíle, stále na film. Tvorba Jaroslava Pulicara je osobitá mimo jiné tím, jak je v ní důsledný a nepolevuje. Nároky kladené na fotografický obraz jsou propojeny s jeho životními postoji. Jan Šmíd - Photography
Jan Šmíd je fotograf, krajinář. Je jedním ze tří Čechů, kteří jsou nositeli nejcennějšího a nejprestižnějšího fotografického titulu Master QEP (Master Qualified European Photographer udělovaný Federation of European Photographers v Bruselu). Zatím za své fotografie získal více než 200 medailí a ocenění, které pro sebe, ale zejména pro českou fotografii vybojoval na mezinárodních fotografických soutěžích. Když se řekne "fotografie", každý si představí "cvak" a hotovo. Jan Šmíd pracuje metodou skládané fotografie, kdy jeden motiv vzniká z desítek až stovek jednotlivých snímků. Díky tomu jsou jeho fotografie technicky dokonalé. Ve své tvorbě se specializuje na krajinářská panorama a snímky noční oblohy (http://www.smidphotography.com/). Nyní nazrál čas, aby vydal svou knižní prvotinu. Knihu vydává nakladatelství Green Mango ve stejně luxusní podobě, jako jsou jeho fotografie.
Anton Šmotlák
Piata publikácia Aurela Hrabušického a Filipa Vanča z edície Osobnosti slovenskej fotografie predstavujte Antona Šmotláka (1920 - 1979). Ako profesionál sa špecializoval na divadelnú fotografiu, ale od samého začiatku sa venoval aj živej fotografii. Patril k prvým slovenským fotografom, ktorí sa v rámci živej či priamej fotografie postarali o uvoľnenie z dogiem socialistického realizmu. Spontánne a bez predsudkov zaznamenával okamihy z bežného života v Bratislave, ale aj inde na Slovensku. Do fotografie vniesol hybný moment, akceleráciu diania, razanciu v záberoch, akýsi fotografický „drajv". V druhej polovici 50. a začiatkom 60. rokov obsiahol taký široký register tém a spracoval ich s takým porozumením ako máloktorý iný slovenský fotograf. Možno sa mu to podarilo aj preto, lebo bol „dobrotivým paparazzom" - ako ho nazval Július Satinský, keď komentoval jeho predčasnú smrť.
