Contrary to the expectations of 20th-century rationalists, religion has not faded away in the 21st century, but roared back onto the scene with renewed vitality. This survey shows how religious themes and images continue to permeate the work of contemporary artists from across the globe. Some exploit the shock potential of religious imagery, but many also reflect deeply on spiritual matters. The introduction outlines the debates and controversies that the art-religion connection has precipitated throughout history. Each of the ten chapters opens by introducing a theme, followed by a selection of works of art that develop that theme. The book encompasses a wide range of media and genres, from sculpture to street art, and considers faith in its broadest sense from Islam and Christianity to Aboriginal mythology and meditation.

he book COLORS aims to explore the best of visual and textual material of the 90 issues of the magazine, created by the photographer Oliviero Toscani and the art director Tibor Kalman in 1991. The content is presented transversely through a subdivision in ten macro-themes which highlight the "Tumblr ante litteram" nature of the magazine. Twenty-five years of images and texts are shaken and served using ingredients from different issues. The idea is to tell COLORS by using its own words, in a visionary journey through time, between irony and semiotics, rereading the analysis of the world carried out by the magazine, acknowledging its high research value. Among the objectives: - celebrating and narrating COLORS in a non-direct and linear way. - not providing an axiomatic volume or making it a monument, but rather making it a subject still alive and able to talk about today's world through the work carried out on the world back then.- producing an object attractive to both the collectors and those who do not know the magazine at all, trying to intrigue those who may have only a few numbers, those who believed it was no longer published and the most faithful readers. The project becomes the clarification of the exhibit of the "rest of world" made by COLORS over the years. The themes are: - BANG! Kniha představuje určitý esej o životě ruského národa, kterému se přední česká humanistická fotografka věnovala téměř 40 let. Pohled na národ, který má potřebu ikon, svatých či politických. Renesance pravoslaví po odvržení komunistické ideologie. Ruský mesianismus, patos i velikášství. První část knihy je věnována období Sovětského svazu, nicméně stěžejní část tvoří fotografie ze současného Ruska, kdy se po rozpadu sovětského impéria Rusům opět navrací národní sebevědomí. Kniha obsahuje 230 fotografií a detailní popisky s vysvětlením reálií na konci knihy.

Fotograf Tomáš Míček sa zameriava predovšetkým na samostatne stojace stromy. Svojimi fotografickými knihami potešil už mnoho čitateľov. Takmer mystickým spôsobom v nich zachytil „prítomnosť“ stromov a ich kúzlo. Svoj intuitívny prístup pritom kombinuje s dokonalosťou technickej fotografie. Fotograf a pedagog Jiří Všetečka (* 1937) se proslavil umělecko-dokumentárními cykly, v nichž zvěčnil svoji celoživotní lásku Prahu. K dalším oblíbeným námětům patří portréty „obyčejných lidí“ doma i v zahraničí. Jeho fotografie jsou rarita sama o sobě, neboť používá výhradně aparáty na klasický film a většinou fotí černobíle na čtvercový formát. Uspořádal téměř 30 samostatných výstav, s největším ohlasem se setkala výstava Pražský chodec, která vycházela se stejnojmenné poblikace. Nejnovější, v pořadí 22 knihu s kolekcí unikátních snímků, nazval Jiří Všetečka …chodec s objektivem. Ujal se i role vypravěče, protože publikaci koncipoval jako ohlédnutí za svým profesně bohatým životem. Obrazem i slovem tak zachytil pražská zákoutí, která už dávno neexistují. Samostanou kapitolu věnoval záběrům z divadelních představení, natáčení filmů a vystoupení České filharmonie s důrazem na osobnosti, jako byly například režiséři Václav Krška a František Vláčil, herci Oldřich Nový a Magda Vášáryová nebo šéfdirigent Václav Neumann. Podělil se také o „triky a kouzla“ s objektivy a ve fotokomoře, kde tvořil například fotokoláže, a osobité zkušenosti s publikováním snímků a knih. Z bohatého archivu vybral rovněž reportážní fotografie věnované sportu, poutním místům, výjezdům se záchrannou službou nebo „ohniváčům “ ve slévárně. Neopomněl ani dějinné mezníky jako sovětskou okupaci a sametovou revoluci. Přidal nevšední portréty prezidentů, kupříkladu Václava Havla nebo Billa Clintona. Jak Jiří Všetečka uvádí: „Svůj život jsem si v podstatě nafotil. Jaký byl ? Nádherný, jedinečný, naplněný. Pár okamžiku jsem prošvihl, ale mnohdy jsem měl kliku. Ne jako od rumpálu, ale od života…“

The world through Linda's eyes: A retrospective of Linda McCartney's life and photography In 1966, during a brief stint as a receptionist for Town and Country magazine, Linda Eastman snagged a press pass to a very exclusive promotional event for the Rolling Stones aboard a yacht on the Hudson River. With her fresh, candid photographs of the band, far superior to the formal shots made by the band's official photographer, Linda secured her name as a rock 'n' roll photographer. Two years later, in May 1968, she entered the record books as the first female photographer to have her work featured on the cover of Rolling Stone with her portrait of Eric Clapton. She went on to capture many of rock's most important musicians on film, including Areth a Franklin, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, Simon & Garfunkel, The Who, The Doors, and the Grateful Dead. In 1967, Linda went to London to document the "Swinging Sixties," where she met Paul McCartney at the Bag 'O Nails club and subsequently photographed The Beatles during a launch event for the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album. Paul and Linda fell in love, and were married on March 12, 1969. For the next three decades, until her untimely death, she devoted herself to her family, vegetarianism, animal rights, and photography. From her early rock 'n' roll portraits, through the final years of The Beatles, to raising four children with Paul, Linda captured her whole world on film. Her shots range from spontaneous family pictures to studio sessions with Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson, as well as encounters with artists Willem de Kooning and Gilbert and George. Always unassuming and fresh, her work displays a warmth and feeling for the precise moment that captures the essence of any subject.
