Michael De Feo - Flowers
As an art student in 1993, Michael De Feo drew a simple bloom that became a familiar and welcome presence in New York after he spent countless nights pasting hundreds of versions of it all over the city's building walls. Twenty-five years later, these flowers have been sighted in more than 60 international cities. His street works took a new direction in 2015 when a guerrilla art collective provided him access to the cases that protect bus-shelter ads, enabling him to launch a beautiful campaign of his blossoms on top of fashion ads. His art has taken many forms, including a substantial body of studio work inspired by Dutch 17th-century paintings and another series which married floral themes with Pre-Raphaelite and Victorian portraiture. De Feo's colorful and lively book reproduces more than 200 of his flower-inspired images and features commentary from a diverse group of people who have supported his often-clandestine work.

Výpravná a reprezentativní kniha Poklady lidového umění je výjimečným počinem, neboť podává ucelený obraz lidového umění českých, moravských a slezských oblastí. Cílem autorské dvojice - manželů Jitky Staňkové a Ludvíka Barana - je zachytit lidovou tvořivost jako projev spontánní radosti ze života a zdobivého pudu, jako výsledek praktických každodenních potřeb i jako součást pravidelných rituálů. Seznamuje s lidovou architekturou, s dekorovaným nábytkem v interiéru, s lidovou polychromovanou plastikou, s řezbářstvím, malířstvím či výrobou a zdobením předmětů ze skla, hrnčiny a keramiky, ale i modlitebních knížek, zpěvníků a špalíčků s veršováním. Pojednává i o věcech, jež vznikaly pro ukrácení dlouhé chvíle (o hračkách, hudebních nástrojích, úlech). Věnuje pozornost také technikám, jimiž se zhotovují kraslice i různé typy betlémů. Vtáhne čtenáře do fantaskního divadla s maskami a převleky, v nichž lidé odehrávali (a stále ještě odehrávají) dočasné role v komediálních, kritických, ale i tradičních vystoupeních během výročních a rodinných slavností.

K výstavě A Series of Utterly Improbable, Yet Extraordinary Renditions významného amerického umělce Arthura Jafy vydala Galerie Rudolfinum sborník textů, který otevírá rozsáhlý rozhovor uměleckého ředitele Serpentine Galleries a kurátora této výstavy Hanse Ulricha Obrista s umělcem.
Další texty jsou věnovány rozboru Jafova díla výtvarného a filmového, dále pak celému fenoménu života černých občanů USA a jejich koexistence v rámci dějin i současné společnosti. Příspěvek Freda Motena rozebírá tuto otázku z fenomenologického hlediska, Tina M. Campt buduje ve své stati paralelu ke zvukové frekvenci vizuální frekvenci života černochů. Ernest Hardy se zabývá především filmovou tvorbou Arthura Jafy.
Nejosobnější a nejzaujatější je příspěvek Johna Akomfraha, také výtvarníka, filmaře a dlouholetého přítele Arthura Jafy. Jsou to slova často poetická, ale i hořká tak jako celý tento fenomén.

Japan in Miniature - A Gift of Inro, Ojime und Netsuke
The private collection of 80 inro, ojime and netsuke presented here was donated to the Museum for Lacquer Art in 2017. The wealth of objects reproduces plants and animals with symbolic significance, literary subjects, historical scenes and famous landscape scenarios - and thus presents an image of Japan in miniature.
An inro, meaning "seal container" in English, is a small, flat stackable box which a Japanese man in a kimono could carry on the silk belt slung around his hips. This gem was invented in the late sixteenth century, and before long numerous workshops were specialised in its production. The donation of a private collector to the Museum for Lacquer Art includes 80 inro with a variety of decorative techniques and shows a wide range of artistically designed motifs. This new acquisition of astounding quality and diversity has been knowledgeably compiled in this inventory catalogue by Heinz and Else Kress.

Villanycigány - minden, vagy legalább amire emlékszem

A könyv eredeti címe, a Der Tastenficker (szó szerinti fordításban billentyűbasztató) a néhai NDK-ban egy szál szintetizátorral "vendéglátózó" zenészek gúnyneve volt. Egon Schiele: Pathways to a collection
2018 marks the centenary of Egon Schiele's death. The book provides an opportunity to study the artist's work processes in greater detail and to follow the fascinating routes taken by his works before reaching the museum.
In 1918 the OEsterreichische Galerie under Director Franz M. Haberditzl was the first Austrian museum to acquire an oil painting by Schiele during his lifetime. Today the museum owns one of the top collections of paintings from the years 1907 - 1918 by the artist. The publication will examine each work separately and will answer questi ons with regard to their acquisition and subject as well as related works. At the same time, the results of the investigations into painting technique which the works have undergone since 2016 will be presented for the first time. Complementary essays the history of the collection and the changes to the stocks of Schiele's works which are taking place as a result of museum reforms, the exchange of pictures or the restitution of individual works.
