Elin Anna Labba skúma osudy severných Sámov, ktorým do cesty vstúpili nové hranice, a narušili ich prirodzené migračné koridory.
– prečo mnohí Sámovia o tejto temnej histórii dlhé roky mlčali a až ich potomkovia sarozhodli rozprávať
Preto v roku 1919 Švédsko a Nórsko uzavreli dohodu o obmedzení migrácie zvierat a ľudí medzi oboma krajinami. Takto vyzerá pozadie jednej z temnejších kapitol moderných severských dejín. S cieľom vykoreniť kočovné zvyky Sámov nariadili švédske úrady v rámci „dislokácie“ premiestnenie chovateľov sobov z ďalekého severu do južnejších oblastí.
Elin Anna Labba zozbierala spomienky, fotografie, listy i úryvky z tradičných piesní – jojkov, aby skúsila vyrozprávať hlboký a osobný príbeh ľudí, ktorí prišli o všetko, no napriek tomu neprestali veriť, že raz znovu uvidia svoj domov.
Kniha Páni nás sem presídlili vychádza v preklade Adriany Gondárovej.
Wild Reverence
Blockbuster bestseller Rebecca Ross returns to the world of international sensation Divine Rivals with her most epic story yet.
Before Iris sat at her typewriter and before Enva sang her song, a young goddess wandered dreams…
Born to the firelit domain of the underworld, Matilda is the youngest goddess of her clan, blessed with humble messenger magic. But in a land where gods kill each other for magic, Matilda must come of age sooner than most. She may be known to carry letters through the realms, but she also carries secrets of her own: one of them deadly, the other a mortal boy who dreams of her, despite the fact they have never met…
Ten years ago, Vincent of Beckett wrote to Matilda on the darkest night of his life - begging the goddess he befriended in dreams for aid. But his prayer went unanswered, forever hardening his heart against the gods. That is until the same goddess comes tumbling through his window, bearing a letter to change both their destinies. For Matilda and Vincent are tangled together by threads of fate and the promise of a future beyond dreams, one that might rewrite the dark, blood-soaked ways of the gods…or end them.

An Expert Witness
From the UK's leading forensic scientist and Sunday Times bestselling author of All That Remains and Written in Bone: a gripping exploration of forensic science, told through often shocking real cases to assess its triumphs, failures, and future.
'No scientist communicates better.' Val McDermid, award-winning author of the Detective Karen Pirie series
For over forty years, Professor Dame Sue Black has analysed criminal evidence at the highest level. As the UK's leading forensic scientist, she has stood in court as an expert witness, repeatedly putting her research and reputation on the line, all in the name of justice.
Now in An Expert Witness she puts forensic science itself on trial.
Drawing on shocking real cases and true crime, from historic poisonings to modern sexual offences, Sue Black traces the evolution of forensic science, from early identification methods to more recent breakthroughs such as DNA profiling, Sue's own vein identification research, and the emerging role of artificial intelligence in criminal investigation.
She shows where science has delivered justice, and where failures have led to devastating consequences, including wrongful convictions such as that of Andrew Malkinson, imprisoned for seventeen years for a crime he did not commit.
As she reflects on life serving as an expert witness, Sue looks back at landmark cases to tell the story of forensic science, ask questions for its future, and explain why this book marks the close of a defining chapter in one of the most extraordinary careers in modern forensic science.
