Danshari
"Meet Japan's original decluttering guru (no, not that one)! Before Marie Kondo stormed into the global consciousness, Hideko Yamashita taught Japan the art of creating tidier spaces." —The New York TimesJapan's original decluttering guru, Hideko Yamashita, first developed her decluttering method known as Danshari over two decades ago. Danshari is much more than just "a way to tidy up." Yes, you'll feel refreshed once your surroundings are in order—but that's just the beginning! At its heart, Danshari is about release. It's about removing what no longer serves you emotionally as well as physically. Discarding clutter frees you from outdated beliefs and emotional burdens that are holding you back. The word Danshari literally means "reduce, release and relieve"—or, in other words, lightness, clarity and freedom. This isn't just about throwing out old stuff. It's about creating space in your life for clarity, peace and joy with other people. Whether it's stressing about money, difficult relationships, family expectations or the fear of aging—Danshari offers you a way forward!Ms. Yamashita's real-life stories illustrate the life-changing power of Danshari, for example:Kaede went through a traumatic divorce, but was only able to tell her family about it after she had thrown away the old furniture left behind by her ex. Yoko spent three months getting rid of accumulated junk, literally creating a space in her home for a future husband—whom she met soon after her house was ready!Sachi spent 20 years accepting gifts of dinnerware from her mother-in-law until her cupboardswere overflowing. When she finally managed to throw these items away, her resentful feelings toward her mother-in-law also vanished. And many more true stories of Danshari's power to transform! In a recent New York Times interview, Ms. Yamashita explains how her philosophy differs from that of other decluttering experts, such as Marie Kondo. She says the Danshari method encourages people to think about why they are attached to certain items and to examine the impact old belongings and obsessions can have on their emotional state. "For me, Danshari is not about tidying up, organizing or tossing away things that don't spark joy […] It is about returning to a state in which parting with things feels natural."This is far more than a guide to cleaning up your house. It's a roadmap to a whole new life!
The Roofless Truth
First comprehensive survey on the pressing challenge of homelessness and what urban design and architecture contribute to fight it
Brings together groundbreaking research, field reports, and award-winning projects and initiatives from Canada, Germany, Iran, Switzerland, and the US
Offers insights into current topics such as trauma-informed design, design justice, hostile architecture, architecture of asylum, and tactical urbanism
Includes a comprehensive glossary of key terms related to homelessnessHomelessness is one of the most pressing social challenges of our time, and is closely linked to issues of urban design and architecture. Homeless people are part of urban society and depend on accessible public spaces and urban infrastructure. Yet, in cities around the world, local governments use policies and urban planning to ward off street people, aiming at making them invisible in the cityscape and deliberately impeding certain forms of stay. Urban design always reflects power structures—it can exclude or open up avenues for participation.
The Roofless Truth brings together contributions by international researchers and practitioners from the fields of architecture, urban development and design, sociology, ethnology, social work, and education. It offers academic analyses and essays, field reports, and student proposals for interventions in public space, and features award-winning projects and initiatives in Canada, Germany, Iran, Switzerland, and the US.
The book highlights how public spaces should be designed to offer protection, dignity, and opportunities for homeless people, and to facilitate encounters and interaction. The featured examples impressively demonstrate that even the smallest spatial decision can determine inclusion or exclusion. The Roofless Truth paints a multifaceted picture of planning and design as a social practice beyond representation and prestige.
As I Please

Collected here in one volume, and fully annotated, these opinion pieces showcase Orwell’s polemical brilliance and cement his reputation as one of the finest journalists and literary writers in the English language.
Poems
'His writing is not about something; it is that something itself' Samuel Beckett
James Joyce's towering genius as a novelist has often overshadowed his achievements as a poet, yet his verse occupies a pivotal position in his career. This new edition comprises all the poetry that was published in Joyce's lifetime, including his highly accomplished 1907 debut Chamber Music, which fused exuberant lyricism with sharp irony, and the later collection Pomes Penyeach, which confronted adultery, jealousy and betrayal. Also included here are the satirical poems 'The Holy Office' and 'Gas from a Burner', and 'Ecce Puer', written for his new-born grandson.
With a new introduction and notes by Clare Hutton.

Slovinská spisovateľka a prekladateľka Maja NOVAK (*1960, Jesenice) svojou vrstevnatou prózou Zverjad (Beštiárium) „zmenila hru“ v slovinskej literatúre a doslova premiešala karty na osiach fiktívne verzus reálne, vysoké verzus nízke, lokálne verzus globálne v literatúre. Knihu zo slovinčiny preložila Stanislava CHROBÁKOVÁ REPAR, tiež autorka úvodu, doslov napísala slovinská sociologička a komparativistka Ana Marija Sobočan (pôvodne k druhému, opravenému a rozšírenému vydaniu poviedok v slovinčine, 2011). Preklad vychádza vo vydavateľstve Fraktál, o. z., ako 1. zväzok edície Narratio (layout a grafické riešenie: Eva Kovačevičová Fudala).
The Planetary Dialogues
Welcome to The Planetary Dialogues, where polaritybecomes poetry. In this lyrical work, born out of a deep and difficult lovebetween its two authors, astrology expresses itself as theatre, as a livingdialogue between cosmic agencies, imagination, and the human soul. In 2014, Andreea and John found themselves on a healingjourney, where astrology, poetry, and dramatic enactment alchemised theirtensions into a creative work. As planetary actors engage in rhymed dialogue, their exchangesreveal the intelligence within polarity, where difference sharpens awarenessand conflict unveils hidden kinship. Twelve years in the making, drawing inspiration from mythand ancient wisdom, this work invites readers into a celestial drama. Archetypal voices mirror the human experience and Gaia, our ancient Mother, emerges as the mediating force who gathers all oppositions into wholeness. Enter a world where the planets speak in rhyme and theheavens become a stage.
The Rise and Fall of American Europe
At the dawn of the Cold War, the US administration pushed reluctant Europeans to create a federation of democratic states. In doing so, they gave birth to an American Europe – a new political order protected by the US military and buoyed by transatlantic trade. Europe now faces a stark reality. The Trump Administration dislikes NATO, considers the EU's trade policies "worse than China['s]," and attacks the banning of nationalist parties. Many in the MAGA movement are similarly hostile to Europe, which they see as an overregulated museum, a US dependency, powerless on the world-stage. This book explains why American Europe fell from favor. It weighs the prospects of alternative European political orders, including a National-Sovereigntist Europe, a Global Europe, and a European Europe. It argues that Europe needs to rethink its alliances, and Britain must decide where it belongs.
She Waits Where Shadows Gather
Parents should pass down stories, not spirits…
Avery and Carlos Tam have built their lives on logic, not legends. Carlos, the host of a hit reality show that exposes paranormal hoaxes, has made a name disproving the supernatural.
But when they travel to his ancestral home in the Philippines, darkness clings to every corner. The mirrors are shrouded. The housekeeper won't stay in the house alone. And no one will speak of the tragedies the family has seen.
Then a brutal car crash leaves Carlos trapped in his own body-silent, helpless, and utterly vulnerable. As Avery tends to him, the house begins to stir. It watches. It listens. And it speaks-in a voice only Carlos can hear-offering a twisted kind of comfort.
And as the lies buried by Carlos and his family begin to surface, Avery must confront the truth: if the past won't rest, their future may never begin.
Some inherit memories. Others inherit monsters.

A Hideghegy és A nyomkeresők szerzőjének szédületes új regénye feszültséggel teli szerelmi történet a korai 1960-as évek Észak-Karolinájából.
Unicorns
A humorous and deeply human short story collection that celebrates outsiders, dreamers, and the queer.
The award-winning Slovak writer Barbora Hr?nová's short stories paint an intimate portrait of people searching for happiness in a world that feels increasingly unstable and uncertain. Across the eight stories in this volume, we meet a rich cast of ordinary yet unconventional people trying to find their place in a society that often prefers conformity over authenticity. Taking us to such settings as a bustling cafe, a small village shack, a rental flat, or a psychiatric ward, Hr?nová captures the texture of everyday life with piercing accuracy and a fresh, original voice.
Unicorns is a remarkable debut that resonates across generations. With compassion, wit, and an eye for detail, it shows us that weirdness isn't rare-it's a universal human experience.

Once I Get Started
Despite prevailing assumptions, ADHD is still an underdiagnosed condition. Not only is the diagnostic scale subjective , but the hallmarks of ADHD often remain shrouded behind conditions like anxiety and depression. Most individuals with ADHD live through their formative years with symptoms that so powerfully derail their confidence, future, career, relationships, and sense of self. And many of them are not first diagnosed until adulthood despite their struggles. An esteemed psychologist and retired clinical professor at the University of Pennsylvania's Perelman School of Medicine, Dr. Russell Ramsay, has worked with countless patients - some suffering from severe cases of ADHD, others having experienced the common frustrations of undiagnosed ADHD for most of their lives. With the help of his groundbreaking program, his patients have found ways to support their brain, express their emotions, prioritize what matters, release shame, blame, and guilt, and see the world in the creative, bright, brilliant delight this neurodivergence offers. The solution isn't simply getting back to whatever is considered "normal." As Dr. Ramsay presents in this book, there are patient-proven specific solutions to bolstering our executive function and these methods combined with a more comprehensive understanding of the emotional pain-points at the root of ADHD can transform lives. Dr. Ramsay offers a paradigm-shift to help us stop blaming and shaming ourselves for our moment-to-moment inattention and instead focus on the behaviors and routines that form the foundation of our lives. It's for anyone seeking a healthier relationship with their to-do list, more positive inner self-talk, and a new perspective on what is possible when we embrace and support our sometimes-unreliable minds.
The Heart of Caring in the Age of Forgetting
Millions of capable adults lose their memory each year, and someone must answer the call to care. When her spirited mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, Diane-Allene Hull navigated a maze of confusion, caregiving decisions, and emotional reckoning. The Heart of Caring in the Age of Forgetting is an unflinching memoir that charts one woman's journey through the evolving landscape of dementia—medical assessments, assisted-living facilities, broken systems, and moments of unexpected grace. The author tells a story of fierce devotion, inner strength, and the enduring power of human connection. As a seasoned physician assistant, Hull has cared for complex patients, yet she was shaken when her mother failed to recognize her. Spanning mild cognitive impairment to the final stages of dementia, this deeply personal narrative blends reflection, medical insight, and practical guidance for caregivers. Part memoir, part guide, and part call to action, The Heart of Caring in the Age of Forgetting explores how Alzheimer's disease reshapes identity, family, and the meaning of presence. Along the way, Hull confronts painful truths, discovers her resilience, and poses a vital question: What does it truly mean to care?
You Can't Hurry Second Chances
“An utter delight from start to finish.” –Terah Shelton Harris, author of One Summer in Savannah, for Sisters with a Side of GreensA heartwarming small-town tale of rediscovering joy in unexpected places. Starting over isn’t easy, but sometimes it’s exactly what we need. Newly divorced and determined to prove she can stand on her own, Joyce Hicks moves back to small-town Texas, leaving behind the life she has known for decades for a fresh start in her late father’s home. Unfinished renovations force her to share her kitchen with her tenant, Gabriella Santos, an aspiring chef with dreams of opening a restaurant inspired by her Black and Mexican roots. What begins as an inconvenience blossoms into an unlikely friendship between the two women as they learn to navigate their shared space. Just as her life begins to settle, Joyce’s summer plans upend when her grandson, Elijah, is dropped off for an unexpected seven-week stay, dredging up all kinds of buried things from her past—including visits from her ex-husband, judgment from her daughter, and insecurities that she never quite healed from. Meanwhile, Gabriella’s passion for cooking and her vibrant personality infuse the household with energy, even as she faces her own struggles with self-doubt and heartbreak. Together, Joyce, Gabriella, and Elijah form a patchwork family that supports each other through life’s highs and lows. When an old flame, Richard, reappears in Joyce’s life, she must decide whether to embrace love head-on or to slow down and wait just a little longer for her happy ending.
