Hol vannak? Mi? Hogy itt? Akkor miért nem látom? – kérdezed Te, tolem a vaktól. Manapság a környezetünkben több látássérült – köztük a vakok is – olyan szinten élnek a társadalomban, hogy akik látnak, pont ok nem látják oket. Na nem azért, mert nem akarják látni, mert jobb lenne, ha… Hanem azért, mert életvitelük, felfogásuk és beilleszkedésük – ha lassan is – olyan szintre kezd emelkedni, hogy apróbb eltérésekkel, de ugyanolyanok, mint mindenki másé. Jönnek-mennek, dolgoznak, szórakoznak, élnek és éltetnek. Meg persze van olyan is, aki otthon kuksol… Viccelodnek, segítenek, utaznak és folytathatnám. Persze mindezt egyéntol függoen. Ha nem figyelsz fel a fehér botjukra, mert magaddal vagy elfoglalva, ok akkor is felszállnak egy buszra. Ha te azon morogsz, hogy egy hipermarketben az árak számait nem látod, mert azok annyira kicsik, a gyengénlátó az orrával olvas, de ezen nem hökkensz meg, mert betudod ugyanannak, mint a te problémád. Ebben a könyvben több felvonásos pillanatképet kaphat az olvasó arról, hogy mint látássérült, hogyan élem a mindennapjaimat; miképp teszem a dolgomat, hogyan oldok meg helyzeteket. Mint ahogy Shakespeare, aki egyszerre volt színész és író, én ugyanúgy játszom és rendezem a saját életemet Mindezt gondolataim áradatával, sajátos véleményemmel és meglátásaimmal. Ha csak mesének olvasod, az sem baj. De ha megtaníthatlak pár dologra, vagy feltárhatok benned néhány fekete lyukat, akkor jó érzéssel teszem le a tollat.

Tales from Shakespeare
Penguin Readers is a series of simplified novels, film novelizations and original titles that introduce students at all levels to the pleasures of reading in English. Originally designed for teaching English as a foreign language, the series' combination of high interest level and low reading age makes it suitable for both English-speaking teenagers with limited reading skills and students of English as a second language.
