Kto bol v skutočnosti autorom desivých prízrakov z depozitára Galérie mesta Bratislavy? Kniha Marxove príšery prináša sondu do života a doposiaľ málo preskúmanej tvorby bratislavského maliara Bélu Marxa (1885 – 1951). Ukazuje, že kým jeho idylické pohľady na Prešporok sú dobre známe, temné, až surreálne diela spájala odborná literatúra s jeho menom neprávom.
Kniha čitateľa sprevádza spoločenským a kultúrnym prostredím mesta po roku 1900. Na pozadí osudov generácie, ktorej životy drvili politické otrasy 20. storočia, ožíva atmosféra trojjazyčného Prešporka. Václav Kabát
Po několik desetiletí patřil Václav Kabát k výrazným osobnostem české knižní ilustrace. Ilustroval desítky knih a jeho práce provázely generace čtenářů, zejména díky dlouhodobé spolupráci s nakladatelstvím Albatros. Přesto jeho tvorba nikdy nebyla jen doprovodem literatury – Kabát vytvářel svébytný výtvarný svět, ve kterém se potkává humor, fantazie i tichá poezie. Tato výpravná kniha je jednou z vůbec prvních publikací, jež uceleně mapuje současné české tvůrce v oblasti tzv. umění v surovém stavu (art brut) a outsider art. Představuje díla dvou desítek neškolených umělkyň a umělců z pražského Ateliéru radostné tvorby, který vznikl v roce 2013 a úzce spolupracuje s galerií Art brut Praha. Všichni zastoupení tvůrci vynikají nezaměnitelným projevem a mnozí – například Karel Pajma, Dagmar Filípková, Ladislav Svoboda, Marie Kůsová či George Radojčić – už zaznamenali ohlas i na mezinárodní scéně. Ačkoliv se potýkají s různými znevýhodněními, kniha neklade důraz na jejich diagnózy, ale dává plný prostor jejich ničím nezatížené a svobodné představivosti.
Doprovodnými texty v češtině a angličtině knihu opatřil její editor Jaromír Typlt, vedle něhož přispěli i Vladimír Drábek, Jan H. Vitvar a Piotr Gierowski. Těžištěm publikace jsou ovšem kvalitní barevné reprodukce maleb, kreseb a dalších výtvarných děl.

Monografie. Nejde o katalog výstavy, ale o bilanci života a díla člověka, který většinu svého času po ukončení vysoké školy věnoval práci pro Plzeň a Plzeňský kraj. Hilma af Klint
Hilma af Klint painted as though she was channeling the universe. Fascinated from childhood by botany and mathematics, she began her career painting landscapes and portraits, but other preoccupations stirred within her: questions of spirit, unseen energies, patterns too vast for the eye alone.
Her art was inseparable from her spiritual practice. With a circle of female artists called The Five, she held séances, heard voices from "High Masters," and was inspired by the Theosophical Society and Rudolf Steiner’s theories. Working tirelessly to map life’s hidden dimensions, she would paint to the point of physical collapse.
By 1906, her canvases featured radiant geometries of spirals and orbs, impregnated with symbols, letters, and words, anticipating the later embrace of abstraction by Kandinsky, Malevich, Mondrian, and others. Her vast painted cycles?like her works for the Temple and The Ten Largest?often depicted dualities: inside and out, the earthly and the esoteric, man and woman, good and evil.
Living as a vegetarian, questioning the fixity of gender, af Klint was clearly before her time, yet very much of it too, and pretty much uncelebrated in her day. Her prodigious output lay unseen for decades, locked away by her own instruction. Only in the 1980s did the world begin to recognize her as a true pioneer of abstract art.

Raphael (1483–1520) is considered the most important artist of the Italian High Renaissance alongside Michelangelo and Leonardo. In his short lifetime he created around one hundred paintings and numerous frescoes, including nine fresco cycles, on an unsurpassed variety of themes – from sensual female beauties, antique myths and portraits of wealthy Romans and church dignitaries to history cycles and biblical scenes. He produced altarpieces, as well as designing tapestries for the Sistine Chapel. His Sistine Madonna is one of the most frequently reproduced religious paintings of all time.
Raphael was a tireless learner, for whom there could be no standing still, no repetition of tried and tested solutions, but only the constant forward thrust of an inexhaustible imagination. He transformed his central theme, the visionary experience of divine grace, into visible pictorial reality. It was his mature work in Rome, and above all the frescoes in the Vatican Palace, that secured him his place in art history. Admired even during his own lifetime as the most modern artist of his day, Raphael’s mastery would pave the way for Mannerism and the Baroque era.

With his smooth, warm, ruddy face which radiated light in all directions, Chairman Mao Zedong was a fixture in Chinese propaganda posters produced between the birth of the People’s Republic in 1949 and the early 1980s.
Chairman Mao, portrayed as a stoic superhero (aka the Great Teacher, the Great Leader, the Great Helmsman, the Supreme Commander), appeared in all kinds of situations (inspecting factories, smoking a cigarette with peasant workers, standing by the Yangzi River in a bathrobe, presiding over the bow of a ship, or floating over a sea of red flags), flanked by strong, healthy, ageless men and “masculinized” women and children wearing baggy, sexless, drab clothing. The goal of each poster was to show the Chinese people what sort of behavior was considered morally correct and how great the future of Communist China would be if everyone followed the same path toward utopia by uniting together.
