Placebo je britská alternatívna rocková skupina založená v Londýne v roku 1994 spevákom a gitaristom Brianom Molkom a basgitaristom/gitaristom Stefanom Olsdalom. Bubeník Robert Schultzberg sa pridal koncom roka 1994, ale v roku 1996 krátko po vydaní debutového eponymného albumu skupiny kvôli konfliktom s Molkom odišiel a v tom istom roku ho nahradil Steve Hewitt. Molko sa narodil v Belgicku a Olsdal a Schultzberg vo Švédsku; zostávajúci členovia Molko a Olsdal obaja vyrastali v Luxembursku a potom sa samostatne presťahovali do Londýna a obaja sú britskými občanmi. Placebo v priebehu rokov spolupracovalo s rôznymi umelcami, vrátane Davida Bowieho, Justina Warfielda, Michaela Stipeho a Alison Mosshart. K dnešnému dňu Placebo vydalo osem štúdiových albumov, z ktorých všetky sa dostali do Top 20 v Spojenom kráľovstve a predali okolo 14 miliónov nahrávok po celom svete.
„Placebo RE:CREATED“ je definitívnou poctou pri príležitosti 30. výročia rovnomenného debutového albumu skupiny. Projekt, koncipovaný ako „Director’s Cut“, vidí skupinu, ako sa vracia k svojim pôvodným majstrovským páskam cez objektív troch desaťročí živých vystúpení. Vydanie prináša zvuk albumu do 21. storočia a dopĺňa jeho pôvodnú víziu, pričom starostlivo zachováva jeho integritu. Vytvára rovnováhu medzi modernou evolúciou a ochranou – rafinované vyhlásenie o práci, ktorá to všetko začala. Album nanovo spracovali Brian Molko a Rob Kirwan s využitím pôvodných hlavných pásov a mixáž mal na starosti Adam Noble. Čtvrtý konkubín
