Spis, který se v chronologii Nietzschova díla nalézá mezi Lidským, příliš lidským a Radostnou vědou, je souborem úvah, postřehů a aforismů, promyšleně seskupených do pěti knih, které nemají vlastní názvy, jsou však komponovány kolem tematických těžišť. Nietzsche v nich kriticky a s neobyčejnou psychologickou pronikavostí analyzuje základní mravní představy evropské kultury, morální kořeny křesťanství, altruistické etiky ad. "Myšlenky o morálních předsudcích" tak tvoří počátek cesty, kterou pozdní Nietzsche nazve "přehodnocením všech hodnot".

Nie som človek, som dynamit... Moja pravda ja strašná, lebo doteraz sa lož nazývala pravdou. Prehodnotenie všetkých hodnôt - to je moja formulka pre akt najvyššieho sebauvedomenia ľudstva, ktoré sa mnou stalo telom a géniom.

Klasické dielo filozofickej literatúry. Kritika náboženstva, založená na princípoch nemeckej filozofie života. Kritika nie je ani tak cieľom racionálnej argumentácie alebo nebodaj vyvracania náboženstva, ale predmet psychologickej analýzy.

Německý originál knihy Mimo dobro a zlo. Předehra k filosofii budoucnosti byl poprvé publikován roku 1886, ale materiál k ní autor shromažďoval už od začátku osmdesátých let, kdy se jeho myšlení začíná postupně zaměřovat k ústřednímu pojmu jeho pozdní filosofie - k vůli k moci. Obsahuje kritiky morálky založenej na kritike človeka ako indivídua s deformovanými vlastnosťami, ktoré z neho robia baránka namiesto dravého vtáka. Cieľom má byť nadčlovek, ktorého obraz je filozofický mýtus individualistu konajúceho mimo akýchkoľvek noriem a princípov. Je krutý, nezhovievavý a tvrdý. První úplné vydání Nietzschovy knihy Tak pravil Zarathustra se objevilo na trhu r. 1892. Jeho vydavatelem byl Nietzschův žák a pomocník Peter Gast. Jestliže dnes vychází nové vydání díla v českém jazyce, jistě nejde ze strany vydavatelů o snahu šířit "pravé" myšlení. Na počátku osmdesátých let Nietzsche našel a dovedl k mistrovství literární formu, styl a filosofickou výzbroj, jež mu umožnily předvést negativní stránku jeho náhledů: kritiku státu a společnosti, individuálního chování a instituci onálních zkamenělin, především ale vědy, filosofie, náboženství, morálky a řeči. Ale co mohl nabídnout pozitivního? Mohl vůbec něco nabídnout? A pokud ano, dokázal to srozumitelně sdělit? V knize Tak pravil Zarathustra se Nietzsche snaží s tímto úkol em vyrovnat.
