Komédiu omylov (The Comedy of Errors) prvý raz hrali 24. decembra 1594 v rámci nočnej zábavy – aj tá noc vďaka tomu vošla do histórie ako „noc omylov“. O dostatok omylov v hre sa starajú najmä dva páry dvojčiat: dvaja páni Antifolovia a ich dvaja sluhovia Dromiovia.
William Shakespeare (1564 – 1616) nebol len veľký dramatik – bude sa o ňom vždy hovoriť aj ako o najväčšom básnikovi divadla. Aj nový slovenský preklad je dielom básnika – hru preložil Ľubomír Feldek. Preklad sa opiera o najlepšie kritické vydanie THE ARDEN SHAKESPEARE.
