Auguste Rodin
Near the end of his life, the master sculptor Auguste Rodin (1840-1917) hired the poet Rainer Maria Rilke to serve as his secretary. Intensely sensitive to art and able to express this awareness in prose of great lyricism and clarity, in 1903 Rilke published a profound meditation on the unique power of Rodin's sculpture. Written around a chronology of Rodin's work, it is also an introduction to some of the greatest sculpture of the 19th century. A translation was soon produced by the American poet and artist Jessie Lemont. Unavailable for many years, this translation is reprinted here together with Rilke's original illustrations.

Elsa Schiaparelli
"A wonderful insight into a life that history hasn't remembered as well as it should have." (Vogue). One of the most extraordinary fashion designers of the twentieth century, Elsa Schiaparelli was an integral figure in the artistic movement of the times. Her collaborations with artists such as Man Ray, Salvador Dali, Jean Cocteau, and Alberto Giacometti elevated the field of women's clothing design into the realm of art. Her story is one of pluck, determination, and talent with scandal as spice. As the daughter of minor Italian nobility whose disastrous first marriage to a Theosophist caused near penury, she transformed herself into a designer of great imagination and, along with Coco Chanel, her greatest rival, she was one of the few female figures in the field at that time.

Frida: The Biography of Frida Kahlo
This beautifully-illustrated and engrossing biography of the Mexican painter Frida Kahlo reveals a woman of extreme magnetism and originality and an artist whose sensual vibrancy came straight from her own experiences. Born and brought up near Mexico City during the Mexican Revolution, she suffered a devastating accident aged eighteen, which left her crippled and unable to bear children. Her marriage to the muralist Diego Riviera was tempestuous, and she had many love affairs with men as diverse as Isamu Noguchi and Leon Trotsky. Absorbed in Mexican folklore and culture and a lover of dramatic spectacle, Kahlo's tumultuous life is that of an extraordinary twentieth-century woman.
A történet ennek a baljós hasonlatnak a kibontakozása, a betegség első tüneteitől a közönyös pszichiáter kontárul alkalmazott elektrosokk-terápiáján át a hajszál híján sikeres öngyilkosságig. Végül a gyógyulás tétova stációi következnek, az életbe visszavezető út lehetőségét sejtetve - ami a valóságban tragikusan ideiglenesnek bizonyult.
Mert Az üvegbura önéletrajzi mű: az újabb angol-amerikai líra talán legeredetibb tehetségének egyetlen nagyobb szabású prózai alkotása. Megjelenésének évében Sylvia Plath öngyilkos lett.
"- De mi az a Kilencedik királyság?
- Az a tagadás királysága, a fagyott akaraté. Ha odaér a Kilencedik királyságba, nincs visszatérés."
Homályos, szimbolikus, több megfejtést rejtő mese a Mary Ventura és a Kilencedik királyság rövidke története.

Augmenting Alice
Augmented Reality is fast becoming one of the most important emerging technologies, with unprecedented investment growth and interest from big tech platforms and accelerator industries. The book introduces Augmented Reality's core concepts and potential to newbies and experts alike. It provides a 'wide lens' perspective of the potential, challenges and impact that the widespread implementation of Augmented Reality will bring. Augmented Reality will most certainly become THE new platform and standard for content creation and experience generation. Its use will make it an essential resource, with a societal impact that can only be compared to the World Wide Web's global influence. Looking at the impact of the technology as it matures into a ground-breaking platform, it goes beyond function to explore the context of the technology's implementation - through social, commercial, and behavioural lenses. It raises a discussion about the forefront of Augmented Reality development, and what its application, and eventual impact, might mean for society in the near future. The book explores current issues already arising in the digital age, due to the implementation of emerging technologies and Augmented Reality in particular - including changing behaviours and social etiquettes, identity in the digital age, privacy and ethical concerns. The book contains an augmented layer, which provides an interactive experience and additional information and will be updated periodically. However, the book is designed in a way that ensures a full [physical] experience without the need for anything extra.

In My Heart
Starring the same little girl in the same charming illustration style as Hello In There!, In My Heart explores emotions--happiness, sadness, bravery, anger, shyness and more. Unlike other feelings books that tend to oversimplify, In My Heart lyrically explains what an emotion feels like, physically, inside. For example: "When I get really angry, my heart feels like it's going to explode! Don't come near me! My heart is yelling, hot and loud. This is when my heart is mad." Toddlers will be empowered by this new vocabulary and able to practice articulating and identifying their own emotions. On the cover and the right side of each spread, a die-cut heart decreases in size, creating a multi-coloured heart the depth of the entire book.
Paul Klee Life and Work
The many books on Paul Klee (1879-1940) published over the years should not obscure the fact that there has been no new, comprehensive Klee overview since Will Grohmann's much reprinted 1954 monograph. With "Paul Klee: Life and Work," the Zentrum Paul Klee has set out to fill this gap, drawing on a wealth of new resources including the Klee family's archives, much of which is published here for the first time. Life and work are truly integrated in this massive, 344-page volume: Klee's vast body of work is surveyed chronologically, as the book narrates his life alongside the abundant reproductions of drawings, paintings, watercolors, sculptures, puppets and numerous archival documents and photographs (500 reproductions in total, half of which are color). The book divides Klee's career into eight periods: "Childhood and Youth"; "Munich and the Encounter with the Avant Garde"; "World War I and the Breakthrough to Success"; "At the Bauhaus in Weimar"; "Master of Modern Art"; "The Move to Dusseldorf and the Nazi Rise to Power"; "First Years of Emigration in Bern"; and "Final Years." The result of many years of research and labor, this magisterial publication demonstrates conclusively why Klee numbers among the most influential and best loved artists of the past 100 years.

Studies of Homeric Greece
Kniha je přepracovaným a doplněným přehledem archeologie a historie pozdně mykénského a geometrického Řecka a společenství geometrických stylů rané doby železné v Evropě a severní Eurasii, ve vztahu k egyptským a předovýchodním civilizacím: období od 13. do 8. století př. Kr., tzv. axiální době lidských dějin a počátkům přechodu od předfilozofického k filozofickému myšlení, od mýtu k logu.
Kniha obsahuje mnoho mapek a kreslených ilustrací, černobílé a barevné přílohy.
Svazek kombinuje svědectví archeologických pramenů s obrazem světa u Homéra a Hesioda a líčení doby Davidovy a Šalamounovy ve Starém Zákoně, věnuje se počátkům soukromých obchodních výprav fonických a řeckých, předkolonizačních aktivit a rané foinické a řecké kolonizace, době přechodu od systému centrálních pyramidálních struktur říší doby bronzové k řeckému modelu městského státu, řízeného nikoli už božskou autoritou, ale ústavou městské obce, vzniklou jako výsledek dohody jejích svobodných občanů, osobní nezávislé inteligence a jejích schopností, které umožnily mimo jiné i plné ovládnutí sil zvířat.
Vyspělé uměnní jezdecké rozvinuly především národy eurasijské stepi, zatímco rozvoj mořeplavby a obchodu započali Foiničané (mj. objevem hláskového písma, umožňujícího přesný záznam slov), a dále rozvinuli především Řekové a jejich nejbližší sousedé na východě, Lýdové a Kárové; obdobný vývoj proběhl také u starozákonních Hebrejců v první době královské.
The volume brings a kind of companion to the subject of study of archaeology and history of Late Mycenaean to Geometric Greece and of the koine of Early Iron Age Geometric styles in Europe and Upper Eurasia, ca 1300-700 BC, in relation to their Near Eastern neighbours. The age around the so-called axial period of human history, of transition from Bronze to Iron Age, from the prephilosophical to philosophical mind, from mythical level of human thought to logos, is discussed in the frame of combining several approaches into a synthetic picture revisiting the previous books and papers by the author, in an attempt to combine the witness of archaelogical sources with the worlds of Homer and Hesiod, and the first private Phoenician and Greek merchant ventures. It surveys the birth of Greek autonomous city states, of their art and their free citizens. The book contains many maps and drawings illustrating the disussed subjects, black and white and colour photographs.
