Kedves Adél, azt az egyet akarom még, ismét, de utoljára, így írásban is kijelenteni, hogy én Maga ellen soha árulást el nem követtem. Bár vesztem volna Nagyváradon, bár ne csináltam volna meg, amire Maga biztatott, ezt a hatéves kálváriát. Odaadtam semmiért erőmet, butaságomat, életkedvemet. Mindezzel ostobául, de mai kínjaim nélkül élhettem vagy pusztulhattam volna. S a legrettenetesebb az, hogy ma kevésbé tudom Magát kitörülni az életemből, lelkemből, mint a hat év alatt bármikor. Annál - sajnos - okosabb vagyok, mintsem Magát mondjam a fátumomnak. A fátum utolért volna mindenképpen, de úgy történt, hogy a Maga személyében kívánt végigverni. Akármi akárhol s akármilyen hamar történnék velem - még magamon kívül se - okolom csak Magát. Viszont én is elvárom, hogy több irgalommal és belátással gondoljon reám.
