Már vagy hat hónapja dolgoztam a „Békeliget” nevű állami fenntartású intézet villa- és kastélyépületeinek ódon falai között, amikor egy csapásra megvilágosodtam, hogy a létesítmény működésének egyetlen kizárólagos oka és célja az elkülönítés, más megközelítésben, az elidegenítés. Azt hiszem, az effajta novellákra szokás mondani, hogy életszagúak, valóságosak és hitelesek. Ennél jobb most csupán azért nem jut eszembe, mert egyre csak a hatásuk alatt vagyok. Fejbe kólintottak, akár a túladagolt feles, a szélről belőtt labda, meg a túl kemény párna a mentőautó hordágyán. Viszont a végére mégiscsak helyükre kerülnek a kirakójáték részei. És miközben ezek egymásba ölelkeznek, te rájössz arra, nyájas olvasó, hogy Szekrényes Miklós végig arról mesélt neked, hogy ami látszólag szétfolyik, valójában egyfelé tart, és mi ugyanannak a nagy egésznek az időnként kacagtató, időnként szánalmas, leginkább azonban esendő és szeretetéhes darabkái vagyunk.
