Je autorkou niekoľkých románov divadelných hier. Začala písať ako dvanásťročná a jej prvý román vyšiel, keď mala sedemnásť. So svojou hrou Otec musí jesť (Papa doit manger) sa stala po dvadsiatich rokoch prvou ženskou autorkou uvedenou v repertoári Comédie - Française. Goncourtovu cenu získala za román Tri mocné ženy (Trois femmes puissantes). V roku 2009 sa s rodinou rozhodla opustiť Francúzsko a usadila sa v Berlíne. Román Ladivine (Ladivine) bol nominovaný na Bookerovu cenu a ďalšie medzinárodné ocenenia.
Power
Sebevědomá Svíčka je taktak ještě dítě. Žije v malé vesnici obklopené lesem a poli, která má už jen málo obyvatel. Ale Svíčka brání svou vesnici proti vylidnění, je zde pevně zakořeněná. Jednoho dne se ztratí Power, sousedčin pes.

Vzpomínka na dědečka a jiné povídky z jižní Moravy
Po úspěchu románu Poslední rok – 1938 vycházejí uznávané rakouské autorce také vybrané povídky, které opět dokládají, jak skvělou a zaujatou vypravěčkou je.
Rok a místo narození Ilse Tielschové – 1929 v jihomoravských Hustopečích – rozhodly nejen o jejím životě, ale i o tématech, kterým se věnuje. Idylické časy dětství se vzpomínkami na rodiče a prarodiče, přirozená dvojjazyčnost, předválečná nervozita a lámání charakterů, „hon“ na blízké sousedy, z nichž se přes noc stali nepřátelé, válečná léta i to, co nastalo po nich. Hrdinové povídek prošli autorčiným životem, proto jsou opravdoví, pevně srostlí s krajinou i s dobou, v níž žijí. Přestože jsou povídky rozsahem „malé“, jejich obsah a děj je činí velkými. Jde o příběhy plné lidskosti, nostalgie a touhy, aby svět byl zase v pořádku tak jako kdysi.
Povídky nesmírně citlivě a přesně přeložila další jihomoravská rodačka Jarmila Červená (1933), která je zároveň malířkou a mapuje tento region štětcem s podobným zaujetím, poezií a láskou. Dvě ženy, které toho hodně prožily, si dokonale rozumějí, a mohla tak vzniknout kniha, která si čtenáře zaručeně podmaní.
Sluha dvou pánů
Divadelní hra Sluha dvou pánů je klasické italské dílo žánru commedia dell'arte z roku 1745.
Slečna Beatrice, převlečená za svého mrtvého bratra Federica, přijíždí se sluhou Truffaldinem do Benátek, aby zde našla bratrova uprchlého vraha. Ten později skutečně dorazí a Truffaldino, jenž netuší, s kým má tu čest, vstoupí z vypočítavosti i do jeho služeb. Vždyť dva platy jsou přece víc než jeden.
Sluha ovšem nejlépe ze všeho umí poplést, zaměnit a pomotat jakýkoli úkol, čímž zakládá dlouhý řetězec omylů, nedorozumění a komických situací.
K nejznámějším ztvárněním tohoto příběhu patří inscenace pražského Národního divadla s Miroslavem Donutilem v hlavní roli. (Premiéra 1994.) Toto provedení bylo i zaznamenáno pro televizní vysílání.
Po troškách
Najlepšie historky zo života sa obvykle rozprávajú po troškách, po kúskoch, po epizódach. Niekto si niečo zapamätal a z toho zapamätaného sa rodí najuveriteľnejšie rozprávanie. Detský pohľad na svet umožňuje poľskej spisovateľke Weronike Gogolovej hovoriť bez fanfár či pátosu o tom najdôležitejšom v živote, ale aj o celkom všedných veciach. Román Po troškách je kniha o smrti, presnejšie o tom, že smrť je súčasťou života a tí, ktorí odišli, v ňom ostávajú prítomní práve vďaka rozprávaniu príbehov.

Nádherní porazení
Román Nádherní porazení je spaľujúca, ohnivá vízia kanadského básnika, textára a speváka Leonarda Cohena. Dnes už klasické dielo svetovej literatúry opisuje prostredníctvom bezmenného rozprávača bizarný ľúbostný trojuholník, spojený silným erotickým putom a tajomnou indiánskou sväticou Katarínou Tekakwithou - nádherných porazených na konci životnej hry.
