At 3 a.m. on Monday, 18 August 1969, the final night of the Woodstock Music & Art Fair, four men armed only with acoustic guitars faced the gaping darkness of a vast open-air audience. An hour later, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young had confounded and convinced their peers, and cemented their place in rock history. Byl jsem brněnským katem
František Babočka se narodil v roce 1901 v chudé rodině. Byl ale jiný než ostatní chlapci z vesnice. Na přání otce se vyučil řezníkem a zjistil, že má silný vnitřní vztah ke krvi a k zabíjení zvířat. Prožíval zvláštní uspokojení z moci ovládat životy jiných tvorů. Tento pocit se sice snažil potlačit, ale stále ho vnímal ve svém podvědomí.
Během válečných let poznal zrůdnost nacismu a jeho přisluhovačů. Když byl v Brně již 23. května 1945 ustanoven Mimořádný lidový soud, aby soudil exponenty okupačního režimu, zrádce a kolaboranty, přihlásil se do výběrového zřízení na místo mistra popravčího.
Uspěl.
Již 9. června 1945 byl vynesen první rozsudek smrti a téhož dne vykonán.
Během následujících dvou let popravil Babočka bezmála sto osob.
