Spomienky básnika, prekladateľa, člena skupiny nadrealistov Vladimíra Reisela (1919 – 2007) na ľudí, literárne, spoločenské a politické okolnosti, ktoré utvárali jeho život. Už na gymnáziu publikoval svoje básne. Neskôr, počas štúdia na Karlovej univerzite v Prahe, sa zoznámil s významnými českými literátmi a zapojil sa do kultúrneho diania. Po nútenom odchode z Prahy pokračoval v štúdiu na bratislavskej filozofickej fakulte. Básnicky vyzrel a stal sa jednou z vedúcich osobností avangardného nadrealistického hnutia. Po vojne pôsobil na veľvyslanectve v Paríži, kde sa zoznámil s predstaviteľmi francúzskeho surrealizmu a pokrokovými umelcami. Koniec vojny a päťdesiate roky zavŕšili obdobie avantgardy a predurčili aj ďalšie smerovanie Reiselovej básnickej tvorby.

Leopold Jim Šťastný
Leopold Šťastný sa zapísal do dejín slovenského a česko-slovenského futbalu ako vynikajúci hráč i tréner. Väčšinu svojho života spojil s klubom Slovan Bratislava, ktorého členom sa stal už ako dvanásťročný chlapec. Patril k stabilným pilierom obrany najslávnejšieho slovenského klubu a bol aj jeho kapitánom. Predstavoval záruku spoľahlivosti, bojovnosti a poctivo odvedenej hry. Vďaka vynikajúcim výkonom sa dostal do reprezentácie ČSR ako jeden z mála mimopražských futbalistov. Po roku 1939 reprezentoval samostatné Slovensko a pripravoval sa na trénerskú dráhu.
Dva roky mal zákaz aktívnej športovej činnosti z rasových dôvodov a k futbalu sa znovu mohol vrátiť až v roku 1942. Paralelne viedol dorast ŠK Bratislava a seniorské mužstvo OAP Bratislava a s oboma klubmi získal majstrovský titul. V rokoch 1949-1951 priviedol Sokol NV Bratislava (Slovan) k trom česko-slovenským majstrovským titulom v rade. Ďalší majstrovský titul so Slovanom Bratislava pridal v roku 1955. V Slovane Bratislava pôsobil s menšími prestávkami v rokoch 1923-1965 a vychoval aj hráčov, ktorí v roku 1969 získali Pohár víťazov pohárov. V roku 1953 bol Leopold Šťastný väznený komunistickým režimom, ktorý mu neustále spôsoboval nepríjemnosti.
V roku 1965 prijal ponuku trénovať FC Wacker Innsbruck a na Slovensko sa už viac natrvalo nevrátil. S FC Wacker Innsbruck sa stal dvakrát vicemajstrom Rakúska. V roku 1968 sa stal trénerom rakúskej futbalovej reprezentácie, ktorú viedol sedem rokov. Zapracoval do mužstva také legendy rakúskeho futbalu ako napríklad Hans Krankl alebo Herbert Prohaska. Po skončení pôsobenia pri rakúskej reprezentácii sa významnou mierou podieľal na úspešnom projekte Školská liga (Schűlerliga), do ktorej sa počas nasledujúcich rokov prihlásili tisíce škôl a žiakov z celého Rakúska. Od konca roka 1979 žil v Kanade, kde v roku 1996 aj zomrel. Slovenský, ako aj československý futbal by nikdy nemal zabudnúť na odkaz odborníka, ktorý svojim myslením predbehol dobu a ku ktorému sa hlásili vtedajšie trénerské osobnosti ako J. Vengloš, V. Ježek, M. Vičan, či A. Malatinský.
Čítanie o slávnych osobnostiach je mnohokrát inšpirujúce. Motivujú nás biografie slávnych umelcov, známych hercov alebo významných politikov.
Absolútne prvou biografiou všetkých čias je zrejme Excellentium Imperatorum Vitae, ktorú napísal grék Cornelius Nepos a opisoval v nej životy viacerých gréckych vojenských generálov. Neskôr mal už skoro každý významný vodca svoju biografiu, vrátane Cicera, Júliusa Cézara alebo Alexandra veľkého.
Pri čítaní životopisných kníh máme jedinečnú možnosť sledovať dlhú cestu, ktorú museli títo slávni ľudia prejsť. Uvidíme množstvo pádov a chýb, kvôli ktorým sa ale tieto osoby nevzdali a zobrali ich ako príležitosť zlepšiť sa vo všetkyćh oblastiach. Mnoho v sebe skrývajú aj úprimné rozhovory, ktoré sú často otvorenými vyznaniami a v tejto kategórii nájdete isto aj knihu o človeku, ktorého považujete za svoj vzor a je pre vás inšpiráciou.
