Kurtyka
Působivá biografie jednoho z nejslavnějších alpinistů světa.
Wojtek Kurtyka je jedním z největších horolezců všech dob a stal se jednou z vůdčích postav polské zlaté horolezecké generace, jež v 70. a 80. letech 20. století zásadně posunula hranice himálajského lezení. Díky svému vizionářskému přístupu vylezl mnoho dodnes uznávaných cest. Výjimečný je především jeho prvovýstup alpským stylem západní stěnou Gašerbrumu IV, kterému se někdy přezdívá „výstup století“ a dosud nebyl nikým zopakován.
Po opakovaných pokusech udělit mu Zlatý cepín za celoživotní dílo („Oscara“ horolezeckého světa), Kurtyka tuto poctu nakonec přijal. Jako silný introvert odmítl bezpočet žádostí o rozhovor či vystoupení na festivalech, souhlasil ale se spoluprací na této dlouho očekávané biografii.

Neklidní
Neklidní je slovo charakterizující hlavní hrdiny této knihy, autorčiny rodiče švédského režiséra Ingmara Bergmana a norskou herečku Liv Ullmannovou. Jako zralá spisovatelka však Linn Ullmanová nezůstává u pouhých autobiografických vzpomínek na soužití s matkou a na prázdninové pobyty u otce na ostrově Farö v Baltském moři. Její vyprávění balancuje na hraně mezi realitou a fikcí a je jak sama zdůrazňuje příběhem románových postav. Původní záměr napsat s otcem knihu podle společných rozhovorů zůstal nenaplněn, neboť během této práce režisér zemřel. Autorka, jíž nechybí sebeironie a klidný nadhled (který často u rodičů postrádala), pak ze střípků autentických nahrávek a vlastních vzpomínek vytvořila jedinečný román o dospívání i konci života, který překračuje hranice žánrů.
Neklidní sklízejí po celém světě znamenité kritiky, literární ceny (nominace na Cenu Severské rady za literaturu 2016, Cena kritiků 2015, vítězství v anketě posluchačů stanice P2 o nejlepší román roku 2015) a dostává se jim i nadšeného přijetí čtenářů.

Kardinál Mindszenty
Neuvěřitelný životní příběh maďarského primase, vězně tří režimů. Jeho životopisec se soustřeďuje zejména na události po druhé světové válce, kdy se Mindszenty stal arcibiskupem v Ostřihomi. S rostoucí mocí komunistické strany a zejména s nastolením nového režimu byl arcibiskup šikanován a byla omezována jeho činnost. Nepomohlo, že byl v roce 1946 jmenován kardinálem v roce 1948 byl zatčen a ve vězení mučen. V únoru 1949 byl odsouzen na doživotí za údajnou vlastizradu. Jeho situace se začala zlepšovat až v polovině padesátých let v souvislosti s destalinizací země. Ocitl se na svobodě za budapešťského povstání v roce 1956, po jeho potlačení se uchýlil na americkou ambasádu a setrval v této příjemné internaci do roku 1971, kdy se na nátlak americké vlády i církevních představitelů odhodlal k odjezdu do Říma. Svůj pobyt ve Věčném městě, Vídni a na pastoračních cestách vyplňoval péčí o maďarské emigranty, pořádal přednášky a psal paměti. Jeho tvrdá životní cesta pokračovala konfliktem s papežem Pavlem VI., který prohlásil Mindszentyho biskupský stolec za uprázdněný, aby usnadnil jednání Vatikánu s maďarskou komunistickou vládou. Plného ocenění se kardinálovi nedostalo ani po jeho smrti v roce 1975, ale až v devadesátých letech, kdy byl plně rehabilitován a kdy byl zahájen proces jeho blahořečení. Kardinálův životopis je psán strhujícím způsobem. Čtivý text o životě tohoto maďarského mučedníka 20. století je doplněn předmluvou kardinála Dominika Duky a historickým doslovem Františka X. Halase.
