Jak v knize dokládá renomovaný vědec Steven E. Koonin, věda o klimatu je ve skutečnosti „unsettled“, tedy nejen že jednoznačně „neví“, ale nemá ani dostatečná data k tomu, aby mohla diktovat veřejnou politiku. Jeho práce je vynikající studií o nesmírné složitosti a nejistotách panujících v této oblasti a je rovněž varovným příběhem o tom, jak interpretační filtry v procesu vytváření politiky debatu o klimatu určovaly a často deformovaly.
