Kniha Odsud až do nekonečna vyšla poprvé v roce 1987 a od té doby byla několikrát doplněna a přepracována, jak přibývaly vyřešené problémy a důležité objevy v matematice. Ian Stewart pojednává například o Wilesově důkazu Velké Fermatovy věty, problému nevyřešeném po více než tři staletí, o větě o čtyřech barvách, nejnovějším vývoji teorie uzlů, teorii chaosu i kvantovém šifrování. Jak vesmír přišel ke svým skvrnám
