Kronika s názvem Gesta Hamburgensis ecclesiae pontificum, tj. Činy biskupů hamburského kostela, je pokládána za zásadní pramen k dějinám severní Evropy v 8.–11. století. Její autor čerpal hojně z pramenů, ale i z vlastních poznatků, zvláště pobytů na dánském královském dvoře. Spis sestávající ze čtyř knih se vyznačuje mimořádnou literární hodnotou, zároveň jde však o významný pramen pro studium nejranějších dějin středoevropského a severoevropského prostoru. Autor v ní přináší zprávy o dějinách a geografii severního Německa, Dánska a dalších skandinávských zemí, přičemž pochopitelný důraz klade především na šíření křesťanství. V této souvislosti zmiňuje také události v severozápadním Rusku, na Islandu a v Grónsku. Nové vydání překladu a komentáře medievistky a znalkyně dějiny Polabských Slovanů Libuše Hrabové (1928–2023) revidovala Magda Králová.

Nešlo opominout pravděpodobně největšího klasika filosofie naděje Ernsta Blocha, jehož hlavní dílo Princip naděje zavazuje k tomu věnovat mu pozornost a představuje patrně centrální pasáž knihy, jež si předsevzala pouze přivádět k zamyšlení nad tím, co pro nás dnes ještě znamená doufat.

Monografie je zaměřena na zdravotní gramotnost v kontextu ošetřovatelství. Význam zdravotní gramotnosti stoupá, a nutnost její podpory se tak dostává výrazně do popředí.
Zdravotní gramotnosti je na našem knižním trhu věnován poměrně malý prostor. Hlavní autorka a spoluautorky předkládané publikace řeší projekt KEGA se zaměřením na implementaci prvků podpory zdravotní gramotnosti dospělé populace do vzdělávání v oboru ošetřovatelství. V kontextu pozice sestry v podpoře zdravotní gramotnosti je rozpracována edukační činnost, komunikace, osobní příklad a vliv prostředí, jakož i využití informačně-komunikačních technologií v podpoře zdravotní gramotnosti. Součástí kapitoly je i zdravotní gramotnost jako součást ošetřovatelského vzdělávání.
Teoretická východiska jsou doplněna o kapitolu, ve které jsou prezentovány výsledky výzkumu zaměřeného na úroveň zdravotní gramotnosti u pacientů s arteriální hypertenzí.
