Registrum na deset truhlic s privilegii Českého království
Svazek zpřístupňuje badatelům poněkud nedoceněný pramen z počátku 16. stolení. Jde o soupis písemností uložených v archivu České koruny na Karlštejně, který se rozhodly sepsat šlechtické stavy po dokončení zemského zákoníku zvaného Vladislavské zřízení zemské. Vzniklý inventář je v českých dějinách znám pod označením Registrum na deset truhlic s privilegii Českého království. Po bližším prozkoumání dokumentu však pochopíme, že soupis nebyl chápán jako registrační pomůcka, ale vyjadřoval představy českých stavů o státoprávní podobě České koruny. Pro české stavy byl dostupným přehledem práv a privilegiích českého krále, o rozloze České koruny i o smlouvách českých a evropských panovníků. Po obnově České koruny (1490) se české stavy k tomuto státoprávního odkazu lucemburských králů přihlásily a považovaly za svůj úkol, dbát nad jeho dodržováním. Jinými slovy ve jménu „zemského dobrého“ žádaly na panovníkovi, aby daná ustanovení respektoval a dodržoval. Šlo pro ně o jakýsi thesaurus, k němuž bylo možné se vracet, argumentačně se o něho opřít a využít ho, a přístup k němu měl nejen král, ale i představitelé stavů.
Smysl pořízení Registra je vysvětleno v obšírné, česky psané předmluvě, která je dedikována králi Vladislavovi II. (1501, 1502). Evidované dokumenty jsou seřazeny podle jejich uložení v „deseti truhlicích“ a zaznamenány formou stručného česky psaného regestu s uvedením ročního data. Rozsah i kvalita zápisů je různá. Praktické důvody patrně vedly stavy k pořízení překladu Registra do němčiny (1503, 1505), ale již bez předmluvy. Soupis se zřejmě opravdu stal zásadním dokladem ke státoprávním poměrům České koruny, o čemž svědčí množství zachovaných opisů pořízených do poloviny 18. století, dnes roztroušených po různých knihovnách a archivech nejen v Čechách a na Moravě, ale i v zahraničí. Z českých variant Registra se nám podařilo dohledat 23 rukopisů, německých rukopisů evidujeme deset. Při pokusu o bližší identifikaci evidovaných listin jsme zjistili, že cca 80–85 % písemností zaznamenaných v Registru na deset truhlic je dodnes dochováno v Národním archivu ve fondu Archiv Koruny české. Zdá se tedy, že opatření stavů ohledně zachování podoby středověkého archivu České koruny byla účinná. Vzhledem k tomu, že české regesty byly vytvořeny k latinským či německým originálům, a dále byly přeloženy do němčiny, přináší text i důležité informace k vývoji českého i německého jazyka v kancelářských kruzích. Ze všech naznačených důvodů jsme se proto rozhodli s tímto pozoruhodným dokumentem seznámit nejen širší historickou, ale i bohemistickou a germanistickou lingvistickou obec.
Edice respektuje českou a německou variantu Registra a je proto rozdělena do dvou částí. Obě jsou uvedeny shodnou vysvětlující studií a nezbytnými edičními poznámkami. Výchozím textem české varianty je rukopis zachovaný v knihovně zámku Maleč (pod sign. 2026), v edici rukopis A; z německy psaných rukopisů byl za základ edice použit rukopis uložený v Moravské zemské knihovně (sign. MK-037), v edici rukopis C.
Sovereignty in Exile
Traces social, political, and economic changes among Sahrawi refugees in North Africa Sovereignty in Exile explores sovereignty and state power through the case of a liberation movement that set out to make itself into a state. The Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) was founded by the Polisario Front in the wake of Spain's abandonment of its former colony, the disputed Western Sahara. Morocco laid claim to the same territory, and the conflict has locked Polisario and Morocco in a political stalemate that has lasted forty years. Complicating the situation is the fact that Polisario conducts its day-to-day operations in refugee camps near Tindouf, in Algeria, which house most of the Sahrawi exile community. SADR (a partially recognized state) and Polisario (Western Sahara's liberation movement) together form an unusual governing authority, originally premised on the dismantling of a perceived threat to national (Sahrawi) unity: tribes. Drawing on unprecedented long-term research gained by living with Sahrawi refugee families, Alice Wilson examines how tribal social relations are undermined, recycled, and have reemerged as the refugee community negotiates governance, resolves disputes, manages social inequalities, and improvises alternatives to taxation. Wilson trains an ethnographic lens on the creation of administrative categories, legal reforms, aid distribution, marriage practices, local markets, and contested elections within the camps. Tracing social, political, and economic changes among Sahrawi refugees, Sovereignty in Exile reveals the dynamics of a postcolonial liberation movement that has endured for decades in the deserts of North Africa while trying to bring about the revolutionary transformation of a society which identifies with a Bedouin past.
