Fake News – What’s the harm?
Former news reporter and founder of Africa’s first fact-checking organisation Peter Cunliffe-Jones argues that since concern about ‘information disorder’ soared in 2016, we have laboured under flawed assumptions about the nature and effects of ‘fake news’ and misinformation. Based on a four-year review of 250 case studies, Cunliffe-Jones sets out four ideas for fact-checkers, policymakers and platforms to curb harmful consequences and protect wider freedom of speech. First, information disorder is about more than misinformation. Second, misinformation in offline settings can cause as big a problem as misinformation online. Third, misinformation that affects policymakers can be as bad as misinformation that affects the public. Fourth, he proposes a model for fact-checkers, researchers and platforms to distinguish false claims that do and do not have substantive potential to cause substantive consequences.

• Dary v zákone o dani z príjmov
Daňovými výdavkami v zmysle § 21 zákona o dani z príjmov nie sú výdavky (náklady), ktoré nesúvisia so zdaniteľným príjmom, aj keď tieto výdavky (náklady) daňovník účtoval. V zmysle uvedeného ustanovenia dary nie sú uznanými daňovými výdavkami ani v prípade, ak o nich daňovník účtoval.
Daňovým výdavkom nie je ani zostatková cena darovaného hmotného majetku a nehmotného majetku, ako to vyplýva z § 21 ods. 2 písm. f) ZDP. Podľa tohto ustanovenia daňovými výdavkami nie je tiež zostatková cena trvale vyradeného hmotného majetku a nehmotného majetku s výnimkou uvedenou v § 19 ods. 3 písm. b) až d)...
• Preprava tovaru – reťazové transakcie
Reťazovými transakciami sa pre účely DPH myslia po sebe nasledujúce dodania toho istého tovaru, ktorý je predmetom jednej prepravy v rámci EÚ. Musí ísť o situáciu, kedy sa do reťazovej transakcie zapoja najmenej tri osoby, tovar sa dodáva postupne a odosiela sa alebo sa prepravuje z jedného členského štátu do iného členského štátu priamo od prvého dodávateľa k poslednému odberateľovi v reťazci. Podstatnou skutočnosťou typickou pre reťazové transakcie je jedna preprava tovaru v rámci EÚ. Skutočnosť, že sa preprava tovaru vykonáva rôznymi dopravnými prostriedkami, napríklad sa tovar prekladá z nákladného automobilu na loď alebo na iný dopravný prostriedok, ešte nemusí znamenať, že nejde o jednu prepravu tovaru...
• Cestovné náhrady – zvýšenie od 1. 6. 2025
Podľa zákona o cestovných náhradách sa zvýšené sumy základnej náhrady za používanie cestných motorových vozidiel uplatňujú od prvého dňa tretieho kalendárneho mesiaca nasledujúceho po kalendárnom mesiaci, v ktorom bola splnená podmienka pre ich zvýšenie.
Suma základnej náhrady za používanie cestných motorových vozidiel pri pracovných cestách sa zvyšuje nasledovne:
• pre jednostopové vozidlá a trojkolky z 0,080 €/km na 0,085 €/km,
• pre osobné cestné motorové vozidlá z 0,281 €/km na 0,296 €/km.
Zvýšené sumy základnej náhrady sa uplatnia od 1. 6. 2025, t.j. u zamestnancov sa prejavia prvýkrát pri spracovaní výplat za mesiac jún 2025 vykonávaných v mesiaci júl 2025...
