Posledná prekliata poetka, Alejandra Pizarnik (1936-1972), bola argentínskou spisovateľkou, ktorej sa napriek krátkemu a tragickému životu podarilo získať status výnimočnej poetky. Je autorkou básnických zbierok Najvzdialenejšia zem (1955), Posledná nevinnosť (1956), Stratené dobrodružstvá (1958), Práce a noci (1965), Odstraňovanie kameňa šialenstva (1968), Mená a podoby (1969), Hudobné peklo či Malé spevy (obe 1971). Roku 1962 vydala zbierku Dianin strom, ktorá na malej ploche zosobnila všetko, čo poetka vo svojej tvorbe túžila dosiahnuť: ponoriť sa do hĺbok, odkiaľ by sa získali slová vystihujúce esenciu čistého bytia a dotýkajúce sa konečných hraníc života, smrti i dna ľudských síl. Duchovne spriaznená s francúzskymi symbolistami a surrealistami, obklopená slávnymi latinskoamerickými básnikmi a umelcami dokázala sa postaviť na ich roveň a priniesť poéziu, ku ktorej sa čitatelia neustále vracajú ako k čistej poézii zrodenej tak, ako sa z kamenného monolitu odstraňuje všetko, čo bráni vzniknúť absolútnemu tvaru. Erik Markovič: Ako je známe, naša Európska únia má aj hymnu a je ňou Óda na radosť, ktorá sa ako hymna síce hrá bez slov, ale ako je tiež známe, - vznikla Beethovenovým zhudobnením Schillerovej básne. Je možné predpokladať, že veľmi hodnotný preklad básnika a profesora Ladislava Šimona, ktorý obsahuje okrem tejto i ďalšie pre súčasnosť zaujímavé a prínosné básne, by mohol zaujať mnohých proeurópsky zmýšľajúcich čitateľov a i všeobecne kultúrnu verejnosť. Pre mňa osobne bolo čítanie Schillerovej poézie v tomto preklade duchovne obohacujúcim objavom.
Ladislav Šimon: V rámci svetovej literatúry sa nemecký klasik Friedrich Schiller pokladá za geniálneho, dodnes živého a často uvádzaného dramatika. Vysoko sa hodnotí jeho prínos k estetike.
Ideálom mu bola antická harmónia, teda súlad všetkých stránok a prejavov života, ale aj on vedel, že žije v prítomnosti a s prítomnosťou sa musí vyrovnávať. Nenadarmo sa nazýva básnikom slobody, ale jedným dychom hovorí aj o dôstojnosti, vznešenosti a ideálnej kráse.
Vari najznámejšou Schillerovou básňou je dnes Óda na radosť, a to ani nie tak vďaka jej obsahu, ako vďaka tomu, že ju Ludwig van Beethoven zakomponoval do záveru svojej 9. symfónie, takže kultúrna verejnosť si všíma iba tradovaný názov. Obsah tejto básne je však podstatne zložitejší ako jednoduchý chválospev na určité ľudské citové rozpoloženie. Je to životná filozofia nadväzujúca na Kantov imperatív hviezdne nebo nado mnou a mravný zákon vo mne.
Básne, ktoré sa zvyknú označovať ako filozofické, sú podľa mojej mienky ešte vždy hodné zamyslenia. Opantali ma takisto Schillerove epigramy, v ktorých vedel vystihnúť podstatné veci. Schillera pokladám za veľkého básnika, o čom som kedysi nebol celkom presvedčený. Pôsobia, ako keby nás niekto pokropil rannou rosou. Viaceré básne sa v slovenčine publikujú prvý raz.

Cselényi László (Gömörpanyit, 1938) József Attila-díjas író, költő, újságíró, műfordító, egyetemi tanár. A szlovákiai magyar irodalom merészen kísérletező egyénisége. Egy kisebbségi sorban lévő, de életét és munkásságát az európai, azon belül is különösen az angol és francia kultúra és irodalom vonzásában és ígézetében megélő alkotó.
