Než se Ocean Vuong celosvětově proslavil románem Na Zemi jsme na okamžik nádherní, byl především básníkem. Jeho debutová sbírka je směsicí křehkosti a síly. V básních, které čerpají z válečných zkušeností, kulturní rozpolcenosti i osobních ztrát, autor hledá jazyk pro lásku, bolest, paměť a touhu. Jeho verše jsou obrazné, hudebně laděné, a přitom nekompromisně tělesné – dokážou být něžné i surové v jediné větě. Černé tajemství
Švýcarský básník, umělecký kritik a esejista Eugen Gomringer (1925–2025) patří k nejvlivnějším osobnostem poválečné nekonvenční či „experimentální“ básnické tvorby; je považován za evropského zakladatele konkrétní poesie. Svými konkrétními a vizuálními básněmi, teoretickými texty věnovanými jejich poetice a ediční prací ovlivnil několik generací intermediálních umělců a literátů. Působil mj. jako profesor estetiky, grafický designér, umělecký teoretik, kurátor a kritik; takřka dvě desetiletí vedl Institut für Konstruktive Kunst und Konkrete Poesie (Institut pro konstruktivní umění a konkrétní poesii; IKKP) v bavorském Rehau.
Kniha představuje representativní příklady autorových ideogramů a konstelací, které v 50. letech 20. století pomohly položit základ konkrétní poesie jako mezinárodního básnického hnutí. Vákhy, mystické verše
Čo zostane, keď človek odloží všetky predstavy o sebe, opustí vonkajšie istoty a obráti sa do vlastného vnútra?
Odpoveď na túto otázku hľadala Lál Déd, jedna z najvýznamnejších mystičiek stredovekého Kašmíru. Jej krátke verše, nazývané vákhy, sa po stáročia šírili ústnym podaním a dodnes patria k pokladom indickej duchovnej literatúry.

Kniha představuje nový, první ucelený překlad Charmsovy poezie do češtiny (260 z celkem 283 básní). Z oněch 23 nepřeložených básní některé nebyly ruskými editory průkazně rekonstruovány, u dalších byla důvodem nezařazení jejich nepřesaditelnost do českého jazykového i kulturního prostředí. Všechny překlady byly pořízeny z prvních verzí básní, a to s ohledem na skutečnost, že autorovy pozdější úpravy nejsou vždy dobře doložené. Zachovány zůstaly i všechny gramatické zvláštnosti a odchylky.
Charmsova poezie je v pravém slova smyslu nonkonformní, nepodbízející se, často groteskní, ironická, sarkastická.
