Vila Lanna. Příběh domu a lidí
Vila Lanna je zřejmě nejstarší dochovanou neorenesanční stavbou v Praze. Její stavitel Vojtěch Lanna mladší ji užíval od počátku 70. let 19. století do roku 1909. Jeho syn ji prodal v roce 1913 bubenečskému starostovi Aloisi Potůčkovi. Od Potůčkovy rodiny ji získal karlínský podnikatel v oboru minerálních olejů Vojtěch Zikmund. Přestože byla vila Lanna už za tzv. první republiky pod částečným památkovým dohledem a několikrát prošla renovací, její další osudy i majitelé ve 20. století zůstávali dlouhou dobu téměř neznámí. V průběhu let získala vila podle svých vlastníků i nájemníků - zvučných i méně známých jmen - řadu přídomků: vila Lanna či Lannova vila, vila generála Pellé, vila generála Mittelhausera, Vila Valdštejn (Villa Waldstein) anebo Valdštejnský palác (Palais Waldstein), podle Adrienny Tůmové, provdané Waldstein-Wartenbergové. Dokonce byla po určitou dobu známa jako Polská vila, protože zde krátce po skončení druhé světové války sídlil polský konzulát. Nakonec se opět vrátila k původnímu označení vila Lanna, i když současnými zaměstnanci Akademie věd České republiky je familiárně nazývána jen jako "Lannovka". Vydejme se po stopách vily Lanna a objevme, že není jen výjimečným architektonickým skvostem, ale také významným dějinným symbolem Prahy i tohoto státu, s jehož osudy se několikrát protnula.

Shigeru Ban

Originally from Vienna, Richard Neutra came to America early in his career, settling in California. His influence on postwar architecture is undisputed, the sunny climate and rich landscape being particularly suited to his cool, sleek modern style.
