Interaction of Color

Kovářovi žáci
Katalog k výstavě Kovářovi žáci. Historie zlínské VŠUP 1959-2011, která probíhala ve dnech 24. 2.-31. 3. 2012, přibližuje etapu fungování detašovaných ateliérů Vysoké školy uměleckoprůmyslové v Praze. Toto období rokem 2011 přestěhováním ateliéru Design výrobků I a Design výrobků II do Prahy skončilo. Nedávno uzavřená historie vybízí k hledání stop, které škola, její absolventi a pedagogové za více než půlstoletí svého působení zanechali a zanechávají.
Katedra, výjimečná svou návazností na Školu umění, jež ve městě fungovala v rámci firmy Baťa už od roku 1939, prošla za uplynulých padesát dva let mnoha proměnami. Zde se průmyslový design začlenil mezi ostatní vysokoškolské disciplíny uměleckého druhu. Z designu strojů a nástrojů dospěl až do podoby autorského konceptuálního designu na hranici volného umění, od designu chápaného jako služba společnosti a prostředek pro budování světlých zítřků až ke kriticky zaměřenému designu reagujícímu na svět reklamy, konzumu, řešícímu otázky ekologie.
