Kým v predošlej knižke sa autor venuje najmä fyzikálnym vlastnostiam svetla a základným tvorivým postupom pri vzniku filmového obrazu, nová publikácia zdôrazňuje význam najnovších praktických poznatkov v digitálnej filmovej tvorbe. Čitateľ dostane odpoveď na nové otázky, ktoré prináša digitálna filmová prax. Monografia je zameraná najmä na praktické riešenia kameramanskej tvorby podľa najnovších trendov. Kniha je rozdelená do 33 kapitol, vychádza pritom z praktických potrieb kameramana - tvorcu a vysvetľuje podrobne rôzne tvorivé situácie a postupy. Ako možno riešiť smerovanie pohľadu respondenta pri filmovej výpovedi, či pravidlo pre nastavenie správnej výšky snímacej kamery. Szomolányi skvelo objasňuje významné postupy súčasnej digitálnej exponometrie, lebo len ony umožnia vznik plnohodnotného filmového digitálneho obrazu. Vysvetľuje proces prevodu scénického obrazu, teda predmetnej reality, do výtvarne expresívneho filmového tvaru. Transformačný proces, ktorý pritom prebieha dnes stále nie je definitívny, vyvíja sa, a pre každý typ profesionálnej kamery používa dokonca vlastný firemný formát spracovania surových (RAW) obrazových dát. Podstatou však je, že digitalizácia snímaného obrazu už konečne pripomína ten logaritmický prevod, ktorý my kameramani dávno poznáme z definícií tzv. fotochemických senzitometrických charakteristík klasického filmu. Pravda s istými novými špecifikami a technickými zvláštnosťami. Logaritmické 3D farebné charakteristiky tzv. 3D LUT-ky nahradili pôvodné filmové senzitometrické krivky. Autor textu tu bez zbytočnej matematiky a fyziky vysvetľuje podstatu tohto procesu a dáva praktické návody, ako všetky najnovšie poznatky reálne využiť. Kameraman a pedagóg Anton Szomolányi správne upozorňuje na to, že digitálna exponometria je dnes v neustálom vývoji. Vznikajú nové (HDR) postupy aj meracie pomôcky pre posúdenie správnej hodnoty expozície snímku. Preto odporúča mladým kameramanom stále platnú metódu objektívneho merania expozičného osvetlenia pomocou meracích prístrojov. Problematika súčasnej digitálnej filmovej tvorby je už natoľko rozsiahla, že vznik tejto monografie možno iba privítať. Pomôže objasniť veľký rozsah nových potrebných znalostí.

Dějiny animace plynule navazují na autorovu průlomovou publikaci Cartoons: One Hundred Years of Cinema Animation z roku 1994. V současnosti se jedná o nejrozsáhlejší a nejhlubší text svého druhu, založený na myšlence, že si animace jako svébytné kinematografické odvětví zasluhuje vlastní odborný výklad a vlastní dějiny. Bendazzi nezůstává u Disneyho, jde mnohem dál: hovoří o animaci v kinematografii ruské, africké, latinoamerické a o spoustě jiných, po této stránce dlouho opomíjených kultur. Zaměřuje se také na léta neobjevené projekty a tvůrce z více než devadesáti zemí na světě. Informace předává v přehledném svazku v geografickém a chronologickém řazení.
Historický estetismus
Publikace je tuzemským příspěvkem k tematice reprezentace holokaustu v narativní kinematografii, disciplíně rozvíjené v rámci tzv. „holocaust studies“. Na příkladu československých a českých filmů o holokaustu natočených mezi lety 1948–2019 se zaobírá funkcí tzv. „historického estetismu“, který jako filmová reprezentace uplynulého času představuje reduktivní historickou syntézu, jejímž určujícím rysem jsou opakující se obsahové a stylové stereotypy označené jako „stereotypy iterace“ a „stereotypy prominence“. Práce je rozvržena do čtyř tematických kapitol. První kapitola nastiňuje obecný pohled na problémy s estetickou reprezentací holokaustu ve vztahu k paměti a minulosti. Ve druhé kapitole je tato problematika teoreticky nahlédnuta v konstrukční rovině narativních příbuzností psané historiografie a fikční kinematografie. Třetí kapitola vymezuje „stereotypy iterace“ vzhledem k ideologickému pozadí doby, ve které byly jednotlivé filmy natočeny, a plní funkci stručné přehledové kapitoly z dějin domácí narativní kinematografie s tematikou holokaustu. Poslední, analytická část práce pojednává v rámci případové studie „stereotypy prominence“ jako povýtce nenarativní metaforické a symbolické postupy při stylizaci filmového obrazu, která svou odlišností od tradiční stavby narace činí historický smysl reprezentovaného koncentrovanějším a působivějším.

The Art of the Lord of the Rings
A sumptuous full-colour art book containing the complete collection of almost 200 sketches, drawings, paintings and maps created by J.R.R. Tolkien for The Lord of the Rings.
As he wrote The Lord of the Rings, J.R.R. Tolkien’s mental pictures often found expression in drawing, from rough sketches made within the manuscript to more finished illustrations. Only a few of these were meant for publication; most were aids to help Tolkien conceive his complex story and keep it consistent. Many do not illustrate the final text, but represent moments of creation, illuminating Tolkien’s process of writing and design. In addition to pictorial sketches, numerous maps follow the development of the Shire and the larger landscape of Middle-earth, while inscriptions in runes and Elvish script, and ‘facsimile’ leaves from the burned and blood-stained Book of Mazarbul, support Tolkien’s pose as an ‘editor’ or ‘translator’ of ancient records.
The Art of The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien collects these drawings, inscriptions, maps, and plans in one volume. More than 180 images are included, all of them printed in colour from high-quality scans and photographs. Wayne G. Bong Joon-ho
Brilliantly illustrated and designed by the London-based film magazine Little White Lies, Bong Joon-ho examines the career of the South Korean writer/director, who has been making critically acclaimed feature films for more than two decades. First breaking out into the international scene with festival-favorite Barking Dogs Never Bite (2000), Bong then set his sights on the story of a real-life serial killer in 2003's Memories of Murder and once again won strong international critical attention, taking home the prize for Best Director at the San Sebastian Film Festival.
