Stereoscopy is Good For You
Brian May, creator of the 21st-century incarnation of the London Stereoscopic Company, became an Internet evangelist for 3-D photography during the recent lockdown period, and fired up a whole new community of stereoscopists, all sharing their 3-D pictures on Instagram. For this book, we put out an invitation to this global community to send us their stereoscopic memories of life during the Covid Years. The range of subjects in these entirely new stereo pictures is immense, with more than 100 contributing photographers finding inspiration in Nature, people, pets, architecture, the sky above, and much more. This book is set to become a lasting testament to the evocative power of 3-D photography.
An Alternative History of Photography
The real history of photography is a vast collection of inter- connected stories stretching from East Asia to West Africa, from New Zealand to Uzbekistan.
It parallels acknowledged greats with forgotten masters, and lesser-known works with regional champions. It is a complex interplay of fine art, scientific, anthropological, documentary, and amateur traditions forged by women and men alike. Drawn from the extraordinary Solander Collection, this pioneering, alternative history of photography is based on principles of diversity and democracy, allowing famous works to be seen with fresh eyes, and giving more obscure works the platform they deserve. Fifty Shades of Light

Bettina Lockemann: Thinking the Photobook
What are the unique properties of the photobook? A practitioner’s material analysis of the form
The photobook gives shape to arrangements and sequences of photographs and brings them into a sensually tangible form. The book format, the materiality of the paper and the type of binding have just as much effect on the viewer as the selection of images, their positioning in the layout, typography and text. In Thinking the Photobook, photographer and theorist Bettina Lockemann approaches the medium from a research perspective, enumerating the various properties that are unique to the form and that distinguish it from other kinds of visual publication.
Archivum
Archivum shows for the first time in book form over 50 black-and-white prints by leading photographer Kevin Cummins of the band Joy Division.
Cummins, as a young, aspiring photographer from Manchester, had unique access to the band in their very early days, from when they were known as Warsaw to when they later became New Order, after Ian Curtis’ death. Many of these photographs were reproduced by NME and other music magazines in the late 1970s and they helped cement Cummins’ reputation as the greatest music photographer of his generation – subsequently he was made NME’s chief photographer for over ten years.
Archivum includes an exclusive interview with the photographer, Kevin Cummins, which reveals new information about Joy Division, the photographer’s relationship with the band, and Kevin’s techniques for photographing.
The photographic prints (all 10 x 8 inches black-and-whites) are reproduced full size, both front and back, with the photograph’s notes and marks as well as stamps from the music magazines.
This is a unique record of an important archive collection of original photographs of one of the world’s most iconic bands.

Through sleepless and solitary nights, After Dark explores the phenomenon of loneliness in city life, capturing urban interstices between dusk and dawn: the eerie emptiness of London's Piccadilly Circus at 4:00 a.m., Seoul's late-night taxi drivers moving along hushed roads and birds sharing the warmth of a neon sign in Hong Kong's TSM District - mysterious silhouettes representing lives lived in shadow, portrayed as intricate cinematic visions, all before the sun rises.
Building on the success of his first monograph, TO:KY:OO, Wong widens his lens to capture the night in the world's most exciting cities. From workers leaving their night shifts to empty streets illuminated by neon signs, Wong charts the hours of darkness as populated scenes become deserted ones. The book's photography - framed to specific film ratios - is imbued with a cinematic intensity underscored by Wong's interest in film, while its themes are amplified through specially commissioned Chinese characters that pay homage to the works of celebrated Chinese director Wong Kar Wai.

Human Playground: Why We Play
Why do we play games? That is the question Belgian photographer Hannelore Vandenbussche decided to explore, travelling to numerous countries to roam the world of sports, passion, athletic competition, transition, and emancipation. The athletes she portrays keep old traditions alive or carve out new territory, perform rituals, and celebrate with boisterous parties centred around their games.
Meet Buzkashi players astride their horses in Central Asia, Donga stick fighters in Ethiopia, Tarahumara runners in Mexico, big wave surfers in Nazare, and many other athletes in these unusual sports. These unique photographs capture athletes from both indigenous cultures in remote parts of the globe and from familiar, Western cultures. They poignantly convey how old traditions are kept alive and new ones are carved out, how rites of passage, ritual, and celebration are all part of the culture of play.
Human Playground showcases a hugely diverse range of sports from places as far-flung as Mongolia and Madagascar, from jockeys in Dubai to land divers in Vanuatu. This extraordinary book of photographs is dedicated to a subject that is being presented in an entirely new way.
Minimalism in Photography
We live in turbulent times, which arouses a longing to pare down to the essentials in many people. The trend towards minimalism is reflected in the worlds of home living, environmental awareness, and mindfulness, to be sure, but it is also reflected in art and photography.
The minimalist photographer's eye directs the viewer's gaze to the aesthetics of the ordinary, transforming them into something extraordinary, something inspiring. The resulting photographs always use clean lines, often arranged in geometric compositions.
Minimalist artists such as Maria Svarbova, Maarten Rots, Matthieu Venot, and Natalie Christensen borrow their motifs from everyday life. They can be schematic depictions of topography, or purely two-dimensional, abstract compositions. Sometimes they are detailed, sometimes large-scale. The point is always reduction.

Steven Klein
The first and only monograph on Klein, whose hyperreal and sexually charged images have captivated viewers for 30 years
One of the fashion industry's most cunning provocateurs, photographer Steven Klein has created many of the most iconic images of our time. Klein's photographs blur the line between fiction and reality, resulting in stunning tableaux that only exist within his fantastical worlds. William Eggleston: The Outlands, Selected Works
The Outlands, a series of photographs taken by Eggleston between 1969 and 1974, establishes the groundbreaking visual themes and lexicon that the artist would continue to develop for decades to come. Newton, Riviera
Helmut Newton was in his sixties and already a well-established photographer when he and his wife moved to the French Riviera. At an age when many people would consider retirement, Newton instead plunged headfirst into one of the most prolific and liberating stages of his career.
The city of Monaco was the perfect backdrop for his fashion photography, and it also provided him with a wealth of subjects for his famous portraits, including the stars of the Ballet de Monte-Carlo and the Princely Family. And it was in Monaco that Newton finally tried his hand at landscapes. While this volume focuses primarily on the years 1981 to 2004, it also looks at Newton's historic links with the Cote d'Azur and the area around Bordighera, Italy.
