Schiele
Egon Schiele (1890-1918) bol priekopníkom rakúskeho expresionizmu a jedným z najvýraznejších portrétnych maliarov 20. storočia. Jeho tvorbu definuje nepokoj a výrazná farebnosť a deformované postavy sa vzpierajú tradičnému vnímaniu krásy. Schiele najprv pod vedením Gustava Klimta začal tvoriť v secesnom štýle a potom sa vydal svojou vlastnou, drsnejšou estetikou ostrých línií, obscénnych krikľavých odtieňov a afektovaných natiahnutých postáv. Schieleho portréty a autoportréty šokovali viedenskú konzervatívnu spoločnosť. Mnohí Schieleho súčasníci považovali jeho diela za nepekné a pre mnohých boli z morálneho hľadiska neprijateľné.
V dnešnej dobe je Schiele obdivovaný za svoj revolučný prístup k zobrazovaniu postavy a za svoj priamy a neskutočne horlivý, až zúrivý kresliarsky štýl. Táto kniha vyberá zo Schieleho tvorby to najlepšie a predstavuje jeho krátku, avšak plodnú kariéru a jeho nesmierny prínos k rozvoju moderného umenia.

Kniha prezentuje výber z rozsiahleho výtvarného diela prof. Elvíry Antalovej od rokov vysokoškolských výtvarných štúdií v Bratislave i v rámci jej dlhoročnej pedagogickej činnosti na Vysokej škole výtvarných umení v Bratislave. Prof. Elvíra Antalová spolu s manželom prof. Eduardom Antalom bola členkou Zväzu slovenských výtvarných umelcov, Slovenskej výtvarnej únie a obnovenej Umeleckej besedy slovenskej. Jej tvorba je významnou súčasťou slovenskej výtvarnej moderny v oblasti kresby, maľby, akvarelu, pastelu a v jedinečných autorských gobelínoch. V tom všetkom je vysoká profesionalita výtvarného prejavu, sugestívny kolorit, pevná tvarová štylizácia a kompozícia. Tichá meditatívna poézia, harmónia i baladičnosť majstrovskej tvorby. Monografia uvádza aj mnohé fakty z jej umeleckej biografie.
Monografia bola vydaná pri príležitosti spoločnej výstavy manželov Elvíry Antalovej a Eduarda Antala k nedožitým jubileám " Spomienky " / október 2019 / v galérii Umelka v Bratislave. Na príprave monografie sa podieľali dcéra Ing.arch. Zuzana Duchoňová, PhD. s manželom Ing.arch. Miroslavom Duchoňom.

Účelem této retrospektivní publikace je umožnit čtenáři poznat, pokud možno vyčerpávajícím způsobem, Rittsteinovo dílo v kompaktním formátu a ve vizuálně mimořádně atraktivní podobě.
Vybrat právě sedmdesát nejlepších Rittsteinových děl rozhodně nebylo lehké. Z jeho bohaté tvorby jsme se snažili vyselektovat sedmdesátku děl, které jsou nejen špičkové nebo emblematické svou podstatou, ale současně umožňují chronologickým způsobem zachytit jeho umělecký vývoj prakticky od vstupu na výtvarnou scénu až do současnosti. Věřím, že se nám to společně s profesorem Rittsteinem podařilo, za cenu minimálních kompromisů.
Kniha je obohacena emotivním, expresivním a erudovaným uměleckohistorickým zhodnocením Rittsteinovy tvorby z pera kunsthistorika dr. Martina Šugára a výběrem vzácné fotodokumentace z umělcova osobního a výtvarného života.
How Turner Painted
This authoritative visual guide to the artistic materials and painting techniques of J. M. W. Turner brings to life the skills of one of the world's greatest artists. Andrej Barčík - Osou cez horizont / Axis Crossing the Horizon
Kroky Andreja Barčíka (1928-2004), výtvarne aj organizačne aktívnej osobnosti, neboli nesmelým balansovaním, ale zanechali v slovenskom umení nezmazateľnú stopu. Jeho meno je späté so Skupinou Mikuláša Galandu, v ktorej sa stretli názorovo nekonformní umelci s dobovými estetickými doktrínami. Barčík vytvoril jedinečnú výtvarnú techniku a zdokonaľoval ju s intuíciou vášnivého človeka a s vedomou taktikou konštruktívneho umelca. V zadaní priestoru naznačeného čiarou horizontu budoval z vypočítaných línií a kontrastov zátišia dobre známych kuchynských predmetov, lámp, fliaš, rukavíc a hracích kariet. Od polovice päťdesiatich rokov 20.storočia vznikali v jeho ateliéry premyslené kolážové konfigurácie bez popisných detailov, na ktorých dáva vyniknúť kontrastom a štruktúre papiera upraveného monotypiou. Okrem zátiší zobrazoval aj figúry a časť svojej tvorivej energie sústredil na skratkovité zachytenie čŕt ženskej postavy. V súlade so životnými skúsenosťami sa jeho dielo stalo dobre namierenou reflexiou v obraznej podobe terčov, ktoré sú osobným dramatickým mementom, ale aj komplexnejšou výtvarnou úvahou.
Ferdinand Hložník - Tvorba ako genéza vlastnej identity / Exploring Identity Through Art
Ferdinand Hložník (1921-2006) patrí k významným osobnostiam slovenského moderného umenia. Do výtvarného diania vstúpil v polovici štyridsiatich rokov minulého storočia. Už vtedy sa zapojil do aktivity progresívnej Skupiny 29.augusta. Vo svojej tvorbe sa venoval niekoľkým výtvarným druhom- maľbe, ilustrácii, kresbe a grafike. Jeho celoživotný prínos sa prejavil najmä v maľbe, a to tak v expresívno-dramatickom, ako aj racionálno-konštruktívnom zameraní. Vo vývoji sa dotkol abstraktného a nefiguratívneho pólu. V obraze organicky používal symbol, archetyp, znak či metaforu. Námetom jeho prác bola situácia človeka v jeho svete, rodná krajina i prostredie mesta. Mal množstvo výstav doma aj v zahraničí. Za svoje dielo získal viacero významných ocenení.
After Life výstavy
After Life výstavy je sborníkem příspěvků čtrnácti umělců a kurátorů, kteří se zamýšlí nad přístupy v dokumentaci výstav a uměleckých děl. Autoři byli požádáni, aby byli ve svých textech co nejvíce osobní a zprostředkovali tak vlastní zkušenost a úvahy na toto téma. Kniha sestává ze tří bloků Manipulace s fakty a teorií, Popisy a subjektivní pravdy, Literatura , v nichž se dokumentační fotografie stává pozitivním nástrojem, důkazem, zkouškou nebo skicou, prostředkem pro vydírání, sebeprezentační blamáží a sbližovacím prvkem.

The 14 Bauhaus books, edited by Walter Gropius and László Moholy-Nagy, were published between 1925 and 1930. Their authors discussed design principles, practices, and artistic approaches from various perspectives.
