(Rainer Maria Rilke Franz Xaver Kappusnak 1903. április 23-án)

Bourgery, Atlas of Human Anatomy and Surgery
We owe a great debt to Jean Baptiste Marc Bourgery (1797–1849) for his Atlas of Anatomy, which was not only a massive event in medical history, but also remains one of the most comprehensive and beautifully illustrated anatomical treatises ever published.
Bourgery began work on his magnificent atlas in 1830 in cooperation with illustrator Nicolas Henri Jacob (1782–1871), a student of the French painter Jacques Louis David. The first volumes were published the following year, but completion of the treatise required nearly two decades of dedication; Bourgery lived just long enough to finish his labor of love, but the last of the treatise’s eight volumes was not published in its entirety until five years after his death.
The eight volumes of Bourgery’s treatise cover descriptive anatomy, surgical anatomy and techniques (exploring in detail nearly all the major operations that were performed during the first half of the 19th century), general anatomy and embryology, and microscopic anatomy. Jacob’s spectacular hand-colored lithographs are remarkable for their clarity, color, and aesthetic appeal, reflecting a combination of direct laboratory observation and illustrative research. Unsurpassed to this day, the images offer exceptional anatomical insight, not only for those in the medical field but also for artists, students, and anyone interested in the workings and wonder of the human body.
Légy jó mindhalálig
Nyilas Misi szorongó kiskamasz, aki nem találja a helyét a debreceni kollégium falai között. Szerencsétlen véletlenek folytán a felnőttek olykor kegyetlen világával is kénytelen idejekorán szembesülni. A nyakába szakadt felelősség súlyát addig-addig hordozza magában, míg végül rá kell jönnie: "Én nem akarok debreceni diák lenni tovább!"
Móricz Zsigmond társadalomkritikájával ugyan elsősorban a felnőtteket akarta megszólítani, pontos gyerekkarakterei és az egész könyvből áradó humanizmus miatt azonban máig az egyik legfontosabb magyar ifjúsági regényként olvassuk és szeretjük Misi történetét.

Do you have what it takes to stand between us and the enemy?
"I'm here to prevent a major and imminent attack. One that will kill children. I'm alone and operational in the country where my colleague was taken and beheaded, and every hour I'm delayed is another hour for something to go wrong - for an informant to disclose my location, for the source I'm meeting to cancel, for the attack to go boom. The fear injects my thoughts with venom."
Amaryllis Fox was recruited by the CIA at the age of 21 in the aftermath of 9/11. After an intense training period - where she learns how to master a Glock, get out of flexicuffs while in the trunk of a car, withstand torture, and commit suicide in case of captivity - she is sent undercover to keep nuclear, biological and chemical weapons out of the hands of terror groups. Posing as an art dealer, she is sent on countless dangerous missions around the globe. Each time, the stakes become even higher and the risks more terrifying. Determined to stop the masterminds, Amaryllis's quest will almost destroy her, until she realises that the only way to actually defeat the enemy is to have the courage to sit across from them... and listen.
In this explosive first-hand account - filled with suspense and plot twists to rival Carrie Mathison in Homeland - Life Undercover is an edgy story of an undercover CIA operative, hunting the world's most dangerous terrorists, using deception and disguises and dead drops in the night in order to protect our streets.
Revealed in never-before-seen detail, Amaryllis offers compelling insight that can only come from having fought on the front lines.
Ábel a rengetegben

A hosszú magányos munkával töltött évek meghozzák a kívánt gyümölcsöt: megalkotja Roy Kiborgont. Alkotásának a hírét nagy örömmel tárja lányai elé:
„Pár hét múlva felszentelem őt nektek, ígérem! Meglátjátok mindazt, amit most elmeséltem!
Kiborgon lelkes szavai a következők:
Erre a kalandra hívlak! Kezdhetjük a leckéket?”
Lányai repesve fogadják az előadót:
„Egyetlen egyszer elég ráérezned és életed végéig tudod használni, minden helyzetben, akaratlanul is, tudat alatt is. Amennyi időt szánsz a tudatos teremtés megértésére, amennyi energiát fektetsz bele, annyit kapsz vissza belőle.
A költemény górcső alá veszi a tudatunkat. A mű valójában a tudatos teremtés, a vonzás hatalmának a megértéséről szól.

In the early 2000s, Adrian Hong was a soft-spoken Yale undergraduate looking for his place in the world. After reading a harrowing account of life inside North Korea, he realized he had found a cause so pressing that he was ready to devote his life to it. What began as a trip down the safe and well-worn path of organizing soon morphed into something more dangerous. Hong journeyed to China, outwitting Chinese security services as he helped ferry asylum-seeking North Korean escapees to safety.
Meanwhile, Hong's secret organization, Cheollima Civil Defense (later renamed Free Joseon), began tracking the North Korean government's activities, and its volatile third-generation ruler, Kim Jong Un. Free Joseon targeted North Korean diplomats who might be persuaded to defect, while drawing up plans for a government-in-exile. After the shocking broad-daylight assassination in 2017 of Kim Jong Nam, the dictator's older brother, Hong, along with Marine veteran Christopher Ahn, helped ferry Nam's family to safety. Then Hong took the group a step further. He initiated a series of high-stakes direct actions, culminating in an armed raid at the North Korean embassy in Madrid-an act that would put Ahn behind bars and turn Hong into one of the world's most unlikely fugitives.
In the tradition of Jon Krakauer's Into the Wild, The Rebel and the Kingdom is an exhilarating account of a man who turns his back on the status quo-to instead live boldly by his principles. Acclaimed journalist and bestselling author Bradley Hope-who broke numerous details of Hong's operations in The Wall Street Journal-now reveals the full contours of this remarkable story of idealism and insanity, hubris and heroism, all set within the secret battle for the future of the world's most mysterious and unsettling nation.
