Az elszakított országrészeket tőlem nem tudták elszakítani. Igaz, a rendszerváltásig, értsd: a fölszabadulásig Horvátországon és Ausztrián kívül egyikben sem jártam igazán. Nem akartam szomorú lenni.

Elszakított országrészeként képviseltek mind a négyen. Az erdélyi és csallóközi ág él és virul, ők tesznek róla, hogy a vérem ne fogyjon el.
Azokban a kis házakban, ahol nincsenek családi gyökereim, Szerbiában, Kárpátalján, Várföldön, ott is élnek magyarok. És ahol magyarok élnek, az mind az én világom kiterjesztése.
Felmenőim jó magyarok voltak, vagy jó magyarrá lettek. A horvát ősök, akik a közös hazát védték a török ellen, tiroli osztrák szép-nagybátyám, aki sógorával, szépapámmal együtt harcolt 1848/49-ben a magyar szabadságért és sok évi börtönt is szenvedett érte, lengyel szépapám, 1831-ben Ostrolenkánál Bem segédtisztje, aki már magyarországi lakosként ajánlotta föl szolgálatait a hazának, Szamosújvár alapítói.

Theodore de Bry. America
When Flemish engraver and publisher Theodore de Bry issued the first volume of his America series in 1590, the New World was, for most Europeans, truly novel. Gleaned from the travel accounts of adventurers like Thomas Harriot, Sir Francis Drake, and Sir Walter Raleigh, De Bry's magnificent engravings brought the new continent and its inhabitants to an enraptured audience across the Atlantic.
From "Virginia" (today's North Carolina) and Florida through Central America and down into Patagonia, the first nine volumes of America depict scenery and encounters between native Americans and Europeans, revealing the latter's perceptions of the former. Portrayals of European discovery and native American customs were based on the explorers' reports as well as De Bry's own imagination, he himself never having traveled to the New World. Although based in Frankfurt, De Bry laid the foundations of the series while in London, collaborating with artists John White and Jacques Le Moyne, whose original watercolors he adapted for the opening two volumes. Lél vezér, azaz Lehel krónikája egyike volt azon eseményeknek, amelyek a magyar mondák világában széles körben ismertek voltak. A nyugati hadjáratok befejezéseként az augsburgi csata után vált Lehel vezér hőssé, aki még fogva tartása alatt is ellenállt a magyar haddal harcban álló Szent Római Birodalom akkori vezetőjének, és a hagyomány szerint Ő ütötte agyon a kürtjével a császárt.
Lél vezér történetét elsősorban az Anonymus által írt Képes Krónika alapján ismerjük. Anonymus Tas fiaként említi Lehelt. De így az is elképzelhető, hogy Árpád leszármazottjáról van szó, bár ez nem bizonyított. Annyi azonban bizonyos, hogy a híres Bulcsú vezérrel együtt vezették hadainkat nyugaton.
Jelenleg a jászberényi múzeumban őrzik a Jászok Kürtjét, amit sokan Lehel kürtjével azonosítanak.
