A HUN-REN Bölcsészettudományi Kutatóközpont Történettudományi Intézete a kora újkor időszakát bemutató kötettel indítja útjára a Magyarország történeti atlasza című sorozatot. Az olvasók két időrendi (1526-1606, 1606-1711), és azokon belül négy tematikai egységben (hadtörténet; polgári, katonai, egyházi igazgatás; gazdaság; kultúra, oktatás, demográfia, etnikum, felekezet) összesen 180 darab, különböző méretű térképet vehetnek kézbe. Az intézetben folyó kutatások az utóbbi évtizedekben fokozott hangsúlyt helyeznek a történelmi folyamatok térbeli ábrázolására, a történeti topográfia megjelenítésére, ennek köszönhetően alig jelenik meg olyan monográfia vagy tanulmány, amely - amennyiben ez releváns - ne tartalmazna térképeket. A térképek - akárcsak a jegyzetek vagy a forrásközlések - a tudományos igényű közlemények elengedhetetlen részét képezik. A kötet magyarázó szövegei, rövid terjedelmük ellenére, informatív hátteret nyújtanak a térképek értelmezéséhez. Debata o významu narativů v českém mediální prostoru se shodou nepříznivých okolností stala právě v době řešení projektu specifického výzkumu Prameny a historický narativ na Katedře historie FF UJEP až mrazivě aktuální. Užitečnost této rozpravy spočívá především v posunutí akcentu od obsahu vlastního sdělení k tvůrci a zamýšlené funkci komunikované skutečnosti. Se zřetelem k aplikaci historické metody zvažování výpovědi pramene jako narativu otevírá nový prostor pro kritické posouzení způsobů výstavby takové výpovědi, ale též různých perspektiv, jež jsou jí vlastní. K těmto otázkám předkládaná monografie kolektivu autorů převážně nejmladší generace přistupuje z různých hledisek a při posuzování zkoumané problematiky si všímá rozdílných aspektů. Monografie obsahuje kapitoly zdůrazňující výše uvedené perspektivy pramene či diskursivní prostředky výstavby jeho výpovědi, ale též roli vypravěče a jeho narativních strategií. Chronologický záběr zkoumaných pramenů pokrývá dlouhé období od raného středověku po počátek 21. století, čímž otevírá prostor pro budoucí úžeji vymezený komparativní výzkum. Jednotlivé kapitoly dokazují, že zvolené přístupy mohou přinést cenné výsledky při zkoumání pestré škály svědectví o minulosti, počínaje prameny historiografickými přes mapová díla, odborné i krásné písemnictví až po prameny úřední povahy či prameny hmotné kultury.

Ešte nedávno, pred pár rokmi bolo slovo Tartária pre väčšinu ľudí úplne neznáme.
