Hova tovább? - Elmélkedések Európáról
2019-2024 között Magyarország európai parlamenti képviselőjeként Brüsszelben és Strasbourgban szemlélője és egyben résztvevője voltam az európai integráció jövőjével kapcsolatos vitáknak. Láthattam a bizonytalanságot, azt, hogy sok tekintetben útkeresés folyik Európában. Tanúja lehettem, miként keresi az európai együttműködés az önálló cselekvésének lehetőségeit a válságok korában. Egyesek - a föderatív Európa aktív harcosai - a tagállamok szerepkörének visszaszorításában érdekeltek, és abban vélik felfedezni Európa megerősödését, mások - és ők sincsenek kevesen - ezzel szemben az európai intézmények, azon belül is az Európai Parlament túlhatalmában látják az európai integráció szereptévesztését, mert szerintük a kontinens identitását az országok és népek közötti törésvonalak alkotják. Az Európai Unió jövője valóban kulcskérdés, a politikai viták viharaiban számunkra ugyanis Európa jelenti az otthont.
