We Build Drawings
`Architects do not actually build buildings,' says Mikkel Frost, co-founder of Danish architecture firm CEBRA. `What we build is an idea. To visualize it, we build drawings.' The evolutionary process of how aphorisms develop into precise architectural concepts is illustrated through a collection of Frost's sketches and watercolours.

Publikace je věnována přestavbě reprezentačních sálů v severním křídle Pražského hradu, k níž došlo v souvislosti s uvažovanou královskou korunovací Františka Josefa I. Na základě rozsáhlého archivního průzkumu rekonstruuje průběh stavebních prací, zabývá se autorstvím projektu a zodpovídá otázku, do jaké míry jsou oba prostory produktem 19. století a co je naopak zachováno ze starší výzdoby. Analyzuje stylovou fyziognomii obou reprezentativních interiérů, zkoumá jejich funkci jako symbol dynastické tradice a legitimity, rekonstruuje historický a sociální kontext přestavby.
