Brassai: Graffiti

Master photographer Brassai’s seminal volume dedicated to street graffiti is back in print. Brassai celebrated the primal forces at play in the act of defacing a wall and the “magical” power of the symbols inscribed. A fundamentally human gesture, graffiti is a distillation of all aspects of life—from birth through love to death. This beautifully curated reissue includes a comprehensive selection of Brassai’s photographs of graffiti, facsimile pages from his sketchbooks, extracts from his conversations with Picasso, and several reworked translations of his essays on graffiti. An essential volume in the history of photography, this book is a tribute to Brassai’s extraordinary prescience and freedom of thought.

The Rolling Stones. 45th Ed.

The kind of fame and success The Rolling Stones have achieved in their 60-plus year career is without parallel; their most famous riffs and catchiest lyrics are indelibly engraved in our collective memory. With their mesmerizing on- and off-stage presence, the Stones set the standard for how a rock band should sound, pose, pout, and behave. They were the first to instinctively understand that what you looked like was as important as the music, and that photography had a vital role in promoting that image. “The clothes and the hair are always impeccable,” describes author Lucy Sante. “They were playing themselves, but with such consistent finesse you knew they were instinctively aware of the camera and how good they will look in the photos.” Unsurprisingly many of the greatest photographers in the history of the medium wanted to take their picture. Produced in close collaboration with the band, this edition charts the Stones’ remarkable history and outrageously cool lifestyle in over 500 pages of photographs and illustrations, gathered from archives all over the world. Unprecedented access to the Rolling Stones’ own archives in New York and London adds an equally extraordinary, more private side to their story. For Mick, Keith, Charlie, and Ronnie this is and was their official photographic record. Features:Over 500 pages of incredible images from some of the world’s greatest photographers, including David Bailey, Annie Leibovitz, Cecil Beaton, Anton Corbijn, Herb Ritts, Albert Watson, Andy Warhol, David LaChapelle, Peter Beard, Helmut Newton, Bent Rej, Gered Mankowitz, and Norman Parkinson.Essays from award-winning writers David Dalton, Waldemar Januszczak, and Lucy Sante.Appendix including a Stones timeline and a discography.

Sebastiao Salgado - Glaciers

This majestic collection of black-and-white photographs captures the world's great glaciers as both ancient monuments and fragile frontiers in the age of climate change. In this arresting visual study, Sebastia~o Salgado brings together 65 duotone photographs from his epic project Genesis, offering a visual survey of some of the planet's most remote and ice-bound regions. From the ice fields of Patagonia and the peaks of the Himalayas to the vast shelves of Antarctica and the volcanic flanks of Kamchatka, these images record the forms, textures, and scale of glacial landscapes around the world. Shot in Salgado's large-format, black-and-white style, the photographs emphasize the physical presence of ice-its ridges, fractures, density, and drift. Light and shadow reveal the structural complexity of each scene, from massive crevasses to the delicate patterns of wind-swept snow. An essay by climate scientist Elisa Palazzi examines the science of glacier formation, transformation, and decline. Pairing meticulous sequencing with refined design and premium duotone printing, the book offers a focused and enduring portrait of the world's glaciers at a critical moment in their history.

Brooke DiDonato: Take a Picture, It Will Last Longer

The debut monograph from the inimitable photographer, Brooke DiDonato, exploring the strangeness lurking behind the ordinary in everyday life. Brooke DiDonato: Take a Picture, It Will Last Longer is a curated collection of Brooke DiDonato’s singularly surreal photography. Evoking feelings of nostalgia or disorientation, DiDonato’s work teeters between the familiar and the fantastical. Inspired by family homes in Ohio, her compositions challenge expectations of how space can be occupied. Torsos, legs, and arms contort into uncanny arrangements across sofas and ascend into attics. Ordinary surroundings often have a compelling presence?white picket fences, cornfields, deserts, and sidewalks become sites of unexpected psychological encounters as figures are subsumed by their environments. Her pictures are playfully titled?Growing Upward Has Its Downside, What to Expect When You're Expecting Nothing, and Went to Therapy but I’m Still in My Patterns?and poignantly touch upon contemporary anxieties and universal themes of love and loss. This volume brings together her most well-known bodies of work, including A House is Not a Home, alongside new works published here in print for the first time. A short introduction from writer Eleanor Sutherland provides an overview of DiDonato’s practice, while an intimate conversation between Emmy award–winning filmmaker and writer Eve Van Dyke and Brooke's father, Bob DiDonato, offers a personal glimpse into her evolution as an artist. A one-of-a-kind photographic experience, DiDonato's first monograph invites us into her beguiling world, daring us to stare a little longer. 167 color illustrations

Global Warning

Martin Parr puts the world to rights in this comprehensive catalogue of five decades of his photographs, published to accompany a major exhibition at Jeu de Paume in Paris. For over fifty years Martin Parr has photographed the absurdities of the contemporary world, from the frenzy of over-consumption and the ravages of mass tourism to humanity’s increasing reliance on technology and our complex relationship with the animal kingdom. By turns critical, satirical, surprising, and funny, Global Warning is published in association with Jeu de Paume to accompany a new major exhibition of Parr’s photography at the arts centre in Paris in January – May 2026. Richly illustrated with more than 175 of his photographs, from his early black-and-white work in the raucous holiday parks and sleepy supermarkets of rural England to his more recent colour photography of bustling tourist attractions and must-see destinations from across the globe, Global Warning offers a reinterpretation of Martin Parr’s work and position in a time of widespread global disorder. Featuring a tone-setting introduction by Quentin Bajac, director of Jeu de Paume, four further essays by Jean-François Staszak, Roberta Sassatelli, Violette Pouillard, and Adam Greenfield, experts in the fields of geography, sociology, wildlife conservation and urban design, put the selection of works into context and explore the important topics that seem immediately relevant to our everyday lives. Showcasing many of Parr’s most renowned images alongside rarely published hidden gems, Global Warning presents more than five decades of incisive visual commentary from one of the world’s most celebrated photographers.

Exposure

A captivating exploration of contemporary Antipodean photography and the power of the lens to observe, interpret and inspire. A photograph is a visual capture of a fleeting moment in time. A split second on either side can change the result entirely: the exact moment of exposure is critical. More than simply a static image, a photograph has the power to evoke emotion, revealing both the seen and the unseen. In her latest collection, Amber Creswell Bell explores the work of forty contemporary photographers from Australia and New Zealand, such as Leila Jeffreys, Bill Henson and Kara Rosenlund. Each artist shares insights into their practice, ranging from the whimsical to the wild, addressing subjects as diverse as the environment, motherhood and identity. Some point and shoot; others meticulously curate a scene, but they all strive for creative connection with the viewer through this common medium. Exposure captures the essence of modern photography, showcasing bold perspectives, striking landscapes and intimate portraits that reflect the region's cultural richness and natural beauty.

Light Blue Filter

Scott Schuman. The Sartorialist MILANO

In 2005, Scott Schuman transformed fashion photography forever when he founded the blog The Sartorialist. The idea was simple: to open a dialogue between fashion and daily life, by shooting locals in public spaces. But in the lineage of Bill Cunningham and August Sander, that unpretentious, radical emphasis on “real people”—off the runway, out of the studio—elevated people-watching to an art and street style to high fashion, long before Instagram. In Milan, Schuman found a muse dressed for the task. Milano chronicles nearly twenty years of his devotion to the inimitable Milanese and their bustling, stylish city, first as a visitor, then as a local. Featuring a foreword by the late Giorgio Armani and an extensive interview unpacking Schuman’s unique approach to capturing fashion in the wild, the photos are so cinematically composed, it’s a wonder they were shot on the move. Schuman seems to pause Milano, not only those shoppers, skaters, and smokers who might have the time but those without it: Miuccia Prada, Emiliano Salci, Luciano Barbera, the Sozzani sisters, all caught here in the same streets and |caffés. What emerges is a street-view history of modern Milanese fashion, by an American with the open mind to see the elegance overlooked by locals born to it and missed in stiffer fashion shoots—the beauty in the authentic, unpredictable styles combined only by those under no pressure to conform. Young and old, they pose while Milan flies by on bikes, Vespas, and trams, amid a dazzle of marble, frescos, sculptures, spires, columns, ornate palazzi and brutalist facades, local markets, florists, vertical gardens, iconic hangouts like Bar Basso and Marchesi 1824, espressos, handbags, high heels, and suits in every color imaginable. From the canals of Naviglio Grande to the cobblestones of Via Brera to the glass ceiling of “the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II” and Milano Centrale, the city’s blend of architectural styles is seen as a radiant reflection of its people. “Milan does not lend itself to superficial, fleeting acquaintances,” Armani notes in his foreword; part travelogue, part style bible, here is an exclusive chance to tune into the city’s rhythms, energy, and soul as intimately as Schuman has, to discover what makes it one-of-a-kind. For admirers of fashion, photography, and la dolce vita, this is the authentic street-style of the fashion capital of the world that won’t be found on Instagram, captured by the pioneer who made it cool and meaningful. In Schuman’s words, these aren’t just clothes, they’re clothes that tell you “who the people are”.

Israel

Unmistakably diverse—this is how Israel can be described in a few words. The north of the country stretches from the Mediterranean coast to the Golan Heights. There the river Jordan, the Sea of Galilee and places like Nazareth and Capernaum are the destinations of many Christian travelers. The port city and high-tech metropolis of Haifa and even more so Tel Aviv show how much the young state of Israel, founded in 1948, is shaped by the immigrants who come to the country from many parts of the world. Tel Aviv's founders, for example, dreamed of a New York on the Mediterranean. Today, Tel Aviv-Yafo is perhaps not quite as big, but it is as colorful and diverse as the melting pot on the east coast of the USA. And you can taste this variety in Israeli cuisine, by the way. Israel's south, where the desert comes alive, also offers a great variety: a diver's paradise in the crystal clear waters of the Red Sea, impressive nature parks and great historical sites from ancient times such as the rock fortress Masada, heroically defended against Roman troops, or the settlement of Qumran, where more than 850 scrolls from ancient Judaism have been found. And of course Jerusalem. An impressive city, where deep roots of culture and religion can be found. For the three great monotheistic religions Jerusalem is a holy or even the holy city. Nowhere else in the world are Judaism, Christianity and Islam closer to each other—geographically at least. Whoever experiences the Wailing Wall, the interior of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre or the Dome of the Rock, gets an idea of what has moved people for thousands of years.

Henri Cartier-Bresson: The Europeans

For the first time in 70 years, the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson is reissuing this emblematic work by Henri Cartier-Bresson. Published by Verve in 1955, three years after the resounding success of The Decisive Moment, The Europeans brings together 114 photographs taken by Henri Cartier-Bresson between 1950 and 1955 across ten European countries. Taken during assignments for Harper's Bazaar, Life, Holiday, and Paris Match, these images form a unique visual testimony of post-war Europe in the midst of reconstruction. From the revelers of Bastille Day in Paris to midnight masses in the Abruzzi, and from the funeral of George VI to the dockworkers of Hamburg, The Europeans does not aim to provide an exhaustive inventory, but rather composes a vibrant portrait of the inhabitants of a continent undergoing profound change. Beyond national borders, the book evokes a broader sense of European identity, shaped as much by everyday life as by the major upheavals of the time. The Europeans shared with The Decisive Moment a similar format, a sober and elegant layout, high-quality printing, and a cover designed by a renowned artist (Joan Miró for The Europeans, echoing Matisse's cover for The Decisive Moment). As with The Decisive Moment in 2024, the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson now offers a reissue of The Europeans in a smaller, more manageable and accessible format, while remaining faithful to the spirit of the original edition. Seventy years after its first publication, this reissue provides a unique opportunity to rediscover a major work of Henri Cartier-Bresson's oeuvre, enriched with an unpublished text by Clément Chéroux that places the work in its historical and artistic context.

Kniha tedy není ve skutečnosti žádnou akademickou obrazovou monografii, nýbrž spíše souborem až překvapivě živých a zjevně důkladně poučených osobních reminiscencí z prostředí i situací zdaleka ne každému volně přístupných.

Albert Watson. Kaos

What makes Albert Watson one of the world’s most revered photographers, hailed by peers, critics, and collectors alike? Is it his unparalleled portfolio of celebrity portraits? Breathtaking landscapes? Sensual nudes, still lifes, illustrious fashion shoots? KAOS presents a kaleidoscopic overview of Watson’s career to date and the dazzling array of subjects, objects, people, and places he has encountered along the way. A skillfully curated and dynamic portfolio, it spans 50 years of photography as we encounter stars, statesmen, supermodels and strangers; bound through neon-blazing cities; find figures poised, or shimmering with nude eroticism; roam the bright lights and the backstreets; soak up extravagant sunsets; and breathe in the elemental wilds of the photographer’s native Scotland. Starting with Watson’s breakthrough portrait of Alfred Hitchcock for the Christmas 1973 edition of Harper’s Bazaar, each photograph reverberates with tightly coiled power, tension, and poetry. Whether it’s a portrait of a Las Vegas dominatrix, Elvis’s gold suit, a chimpanzee, or a street scene in China, Watson excels in capturing the surface seamlessly and probing its myriad depths. Along the way, his celebrity portraiture, including the likes of David Bowie, Jay Z, Kate Moss, Jennifer Lopez, Pamela Anderson, Mick Jagger, Jack Nicholson, Steve Jobs, and Andy Warhol, shows a particular interest in the private person behind the iconic façade. This remarkable collection is accompanied by an essay from the former head of photographs at Christie’s, Philippe Garner, and extensive quotes from Watson, as well as dozens of previously unpublished Polaroids, culled from Watson’s personal archives. The result is a defining document of the “photographer’s photographer,” iridescent in its graphic, often cinematic allure, and irresistible in its eclectic glory.

Sebastiao Salgado. Amazonia. 45th Ed.

Sebastiao Salgado traveled the Brazilian Amazon and photographed the unparalleled beauty of this extraordinary region for six years: the forest, the rivers, the mountains, the people who live there—an irreplaceable treasure of humanity. Salgado described the Brazilian Amazon as "the last frontier, a mysterious universe of its own, where the immense power of nature can be felt as nowhere else on earth. Here is a forest stretching to infinity that contains one-tenth of all living plant and animal species, the world’s largest single natural laboratory.” Salgado visited a dozen indigenous tribes that exist in small communities scattered across the largest tropical rainforest in the world. He documented the daily life of the Yanomami, the Asháninka, the Yawanawá, the Suruwahá, the Zo’é, the Kuikuro, the Waurá, the Kamayurá, the Korubo, the Marubo, the Awá, and the Macuxi—their warm family bonds, their hunting and fishing, the manner in which they prepare and share meals, their marvelous talent for painting their faces and bodies, the significance of their shamans, and their dances and rituals. Sebastiao Salgado has dedicated this book to the indigenous peoples of Brazil’s Amazon region: “My wish, with all my heart, with all my energy, with all the passion I possess, is that in 50 years’ time this book will not resemble a record of a lost world. Amazônia must live on.” INSTITUTO TERRA Founded in 1998 at Aimorés in the state of Minas Gerais, Instituto Terra is the culmination of Lélia Wanick Salgado and Sebastiao Salgado’s lifelong activism and work as cultural documentarians. Through a scientific program of planting and raising saplings, the organization has performed a miraculous reforestation of the once infertile region and furthered the Salgados’ mission of reversing the damage done to our planet.
