From the critically acclaimed, bestselling author of Weyward: FOUR SISTERS, SEPARATED BY HISTORY, BOUND BY THE SEA
When Lucy arrives at her sister's house in a wild panic, she doesn't find the solace she's desperately seeking - only an abandoned house, in a town steeped in mystery.
As Lucy searches for her sister, instead she uncovers tales of missing men. Stories of women drowned just off the coast two hundred years before. Rumours of their voices on the waves.
Can the voices lead Lucy to her sister - or are they trying to pull them both under?

1982 Dawn is a young wife and mother hemmed in by village life. Then Hazel appears like a torch in the dark. Their attraction is instant and suddenly Dawn’s world is more joyful, and more complicated, than she ever expected.

Facing the Bridge
Amo, an African kidnapped to Europe as a boy, and Tamao, a Japanese exchange student in Germany, live in different countries but are being followed by the same shadow; Kazuko, a young professional tourist, is lured to Vietnam by a mysterious postcard; on the Canary Islands, a nameless translator battles a banana grove and a series of Saint Georges... These three tales by master storyteller Yoko Tawada cross cultures and histories with a sensuous playfulness. In Facing the Bridge, obsession becomes delight as the reader is whisked into a world where identities flicker and shift in a never-ending balance.
The Crystal Vase
A road-trip across Europe and back in time: the debut graphic memoir from the prize-winning author of A Funeral In Freiburg.
When her imperious, chain-smoking German Jewish grandmother dies, it falls to Astrid and her father to drive a hire van to the Black Forest and collect the family heirlooms from Gisela's nicotine-stained apartment.
In Freiburg, they are faced with several lifetimes' worth of belongings to sort through - infested Persian rugs, mysterious photographs, a toy monkey that started a marriage - and a grasping landlord, impatient to renovate.
As the list of demands from uncles, sisters and cousins grows longer, the rabbit-holes of history and memory grow deeper. Long-buried secrets and tales of survival are revealed - from Nazi Germany to colonial Africa - and old feuds are reignited, as father and daughter struggle with the responsibility of preserving the family legacy. More importantly, will they be able to fit everything into a medium wheel-base transit van?
Funny, bittersweet and beautifully drawn, The Crystal Vase is an odyssey of family arguments, identity crises, and late discoveries.

V útržkovitých, meditativních textech zkoumá motivy samoty, paměti, touhy a ticha. Quignard propojuje autobiografické reflexe s filozofickými úvahami a kulturními odkazy, čímž vytváří jedinečnou mozaiku intimity a myšlení.

The Vanishing Point
From the bestselling novelist, travel writer, and "master of the short story" (NPR) comes a brilliant new collection.
The stories in The Vanishing Point are both exotic and domestic, their settings ranging from Hawaii to Africa and New England. Each focuses on life's vanishing points-a moment when seemingly all lines running through one's life converge, and one can see no farther, yet must deal with the implications. With the insight, subtlety, and empathy that has long characterized his work, Theroux has written deeply moving stories about memory, longing, and the passing of time, reclaiming his status, once again, as a master of the form.

On a small liberal arts campus in upstate New York, Charlotte begins her final year with a lie. Her father died over the summer, she says. Heart attack. Very sudden.
Charlotte had never been close with her classmates but as she repeats her tale, their expressions soften into kindness. And so she learns there are things worth lying for: attention, affection, and, as she embarks on a relationship with fellow student Katarina, even love. All she needs to do is keep control of the threads that hold her lie - and her life - together.
But six thousand miles away, alone in the grey two-up-two-down Staffordshire terrace she grew up in, her father is very much alive, watching television and drinking beer. Charlotte has always kept difficult truths at arm's length, but his resolve to visit his distant daughter might just be the one thing she can't control.

Soon, people start to go missing and trees appear in unlikely places.
As cities decay and the world becomes greener, Caelyn becomes more and more convinced that arborescence is exactly what will save the planet from human destruction. Bren isn't so sure. Drifting apart, Bren and Caelyn are forced to question what it really means to be human - and if they are ready to stand still.
'A dazzling blend of cosmic eco-horror and arthouse sci-fi, Arborescence is one of the most profound and beautiful books you'll ever read. A devastating and unforgettable elegy for the planet' Chris Flynn, author of Orpheus Nine
