Čtvrtý z plánovaných šesti svazků první kompletní kritické edice korespondence Karla Havlíčka (18211856) zahrnuje bezmála dvě stě dopisů z přelomového roku 1848, valnou většinou zpřístupňovaných veřejnosti vůbec poprvé. Období je rámováno Havlíčkovou svatbou s Julií Sýkorovou a narozením dcery Zdenky. Jádrem svazku je ale korespondence redakční: většina otištěných listů přibližuje Havlíčkovy novinářské aktivity, jejich organizování i veřejný ohlas, jim je věnována i úvodní studie. Po uvolnění cenzury a císařském slibu konstituce opouští Karel Havlíček redakci Pražských novin a zakládá opoziční Národní noviny. Po potlačení svatodušních bouří je proti němu vedeno vyšetřování a několik červencových dní je vězněn na Pražském hradě. Právě v té době je zvolen poslancem ústavodárného říšského sněmu, avšak koncem roku se mandátu vzdává, aby se mohl naplno věnovat novinám. Stejně jako předchozí tři díly obsahuje i tento svazek také vysvětlivky, rozsáhlou ediční poznámku, kalendárium Havlíčkova života a díla, obrazovou přílohu a jmenný rejstřík.

Hetvenhárom évig élt boldog házasságban a feleségével, Flore-ral. Két fiuk született, számos unokája és dédunokája van. A legmagasabb ausztrál állami elismerés, a Medal of the Order of Australia kitüntetettje.
2021-ben, százegy évesen érte a halál.

Kniha se zabývá českou političkou, publicistkou a jednou z prvních poslankyň československého parlamentu Luisou Landovou-Štychovou (18851969). Současně se angažovala v mnoha prostředích, jejichž analýza představuje cenné sondy do kulturních dějin české společnosti 20. století byla aktivní v bezvěreckých, ženských, skautských spolcích, v domácím odboji za první světové války, v Národním shromáždění, v antifašistických skupinách ve třicátých letech a po roce 1945 v ateistických a astronomických organizacích. Landová-Štychová se celý život zabývala řadou pozoruhodných témat: sexualitou, rodičovstvím, kolektivním bydlením a ženskými právy. Její blízkost německému prostředí ji činila poměrně senzitivní v otázce národnostních vztahů zejména po roce 1945, kdy se její rodina stala obětí protiněmeckého šovinismu. Předkládaná biografie srovnává její vlastní vzpomínky s dalšími prameny a ukazuje snahu konstruovat čítankový příběh socialistické aktivistky, zatímco z ostatních zdrojů je možno rekonstruovat rozporný a v mnohém nešťastný život skutečné historické aktérky.
