A Continuous Struggle
A Continuous Struggle is a political biography of one of the most important-if since forgotten-revolutionary figures of the twentieth century in the United States. Martin Sostre (1923-2015) was a Black Puerto Rican from East Harlem who became a politicized prisoner and jailhouse lawyer, winning cases in the early 1960s that helped secure the constitutional rights of incarcerated people. He opened one of the country''s first radical Black bookstores and was scapegoated and framed by police and the FBI following the Buffalo rebellion of 1967. He was sentenced by an all-white jury to thirty-one to forty-one years. Throughout his nine-year imprisonment, Sostre transformed himself and the revolutionary movements he was a part of, eventually identifying as a revolutionary anarchist and laying the foundation for contemporary Black anarchism. During that time, he engaged in principled resistance to strip frisks for which he was beaten eleven times, raising awareness about the routinized sexual assault of imprisoned people. The decade-long Free Martin Sostre movement was one of the greatest and most improbable defense campaign victories of the Black Power era, alongside those to liberate Angela Davis and Huey Newton. Although Sostre receded from public view after his release in 1976, he lived another four decades of committed struggle as a tenant organizer and youth mentor in New York and New Jersey. Throughout his long life, Martin Sostre was a jailhouse lawyer, revolutionary bookseller, yogi, mentor and teacher, anti-rape organizer, housing justice activist, and original political thinker. The variety of strategies he used and terrains on which he struggled emphasize the necessity and possibility of multi-faceted and continuous struggle against all forms of oppression in pursuit of an egalitarian society founded on the principles of ''maximum human freedom, spirituality, and love.''

Salafi Political Theology
Salafism is a theological movement whose radical wing is today affiliated with al-Q? da and the Islamic State, but which draws on precedents stretching back to the medieval theology of Ibn Taymiyya. This innovative study focuses on the concept of theonomy in salafi thought: the tenet that rule by God's law is an essential component of faith, and the corresponding notion that other forms of rule based on human legislation are inherently polytheistic and thereby illegitimate. The Road to October 7
The Road to October 7 examines what paved the way for the October 7, 2023, attack on Israel and its aftermath. Part 1, “The Present,” documents the Hamas invasion, the rise of Hamas, the education of Palestinian Arab children to hate and kill, the diplomatic decisions that helped enable the attack, and the propagation of anti-Israel and anti-Jewish libels. Part 2, “The Past,” analyzes how in both method and ideology, the Hamas assault echoed the pogroms in medieval Europe, Czarist Russia, and Ukraine; the Holocaust; and a century of Palestinian Arab terrorism. It also examines select American universities’ cultivation of friendly relations with Nazi Germany in the 1930s (the same universities that tolerated pro-Hamas protests after October 7) and October 7 as a turning point in the long history of antisemitism. Readers will emerge with important insights on the Hamas attack, antisemitic education in Palestinian Arab society, pro-Hamas groups on U.S. campuses, the responses of women’s and human rights organizations to mass sexual violence, misconceptions and fabrications about Israel’s conduct in the ensuing war, and why October 7 needs to be viewed as one segment of both the century-long Palestinian Arab war and the centuries-old international war against the Jewish people.

V temných časech, kdy se euroatlantická civilizace ocitá na křižovatce, obrací Douglas Murray pozornost k jednomu z nejsložitějších konfliktů současnosti: k válce mezi Izraelem a Hamásem. Nejde o reportáž z bojiště, spíš o hluboký esej o tom, co odděluje život od smrti, svobodu od otroctví a lidskost od barbarství.
Ráno 7. října 2023 vtrhl smrtící kult Hamásu do izraelských vesnic. Rituál ideologie, jež uctívá smrt jako vrchol existence, přinesl masové vraždy, znásilňování, mučení, únosy. Murray čerpá z osobních svědectví přeživších, ale také sleduje cestu od kořenů islamistického extremismu až po manipulaci, jež dělá vražedné stroje dokonce i z dětí.
Čím je kniha tak atraktivní? Svou univerzálností. Oslovuje nás všechny, kdo sledujeme, jak Západ sabotuje sám sebe v závodech slepé „tolerance“ vůči extremismu. Fleeing from History
Chronicles the history of Zionism, Israel, and the United States. Fleeing from History offers an understanding of Zionism not as ideology or movement but rather as a multidimensional cosmopolitan arena for Jewish political debate and argument. Drawing on conversations in currently developing literature on colonialism and decolonization, exile and diaspora studies, as well as comparative history, Ylana N. Miller argues that Zionism must be seen through a multinational lens that illuminates the historical process by which it was reduced from a broad, diverse, generative arena of Jewish political creativity to an exclusionary nationalism. Central to the history of this process is the gradual transformation of the American political environment within which Zionism came to be identified with the state of Israel. A key and abiding insight that this history advances is that Jewish history cannot be told without recognition of parallel developments among other groups; for this study, Palestinian Arabs and Algerians. The shift in the diaspora/Zionist center of gravity from European dominance to that of the United States should be understood as representing a break and change rather than continuity. The US–Israel relationship that appears unquestionable today was not inevitable. It was the result of the gradual winnowing of dissenting voices and the embrace of a specific version of state identity.
Diasporic Futures
Connected to a divided island, British Cypriots have participated in the reproduction of conflict and partition but have also been active agents of peacebuilding and reconciliation. Focusing on the latter, Diasporic Futures traces the transnational politics of Greek Cypriots in London during a significant historical period in which space opened for diasporic involvement in peace politics at ‘home’. It applies a temporal framework and proposes that diasporas and transnationalism - often analysed through an emphasis on space - must also be understood through an investigation of time. The book argues that diasporas do not exist linearly, but are made, reorganised or enervated in and by time, aggregating at particular historical points and dissipating at others. Moreover, Diasporic Futures illustrates that, although imagined as anchored in the past and ‘out of sync’, diasporas are ‘horizonal’, made by their orientations towards the future and a politics of hope.
