Začiatkom roku 2025 začali platiť viaceré novely Zákonníka práce.
Predovšetkým treba upozorniť na to, že sa doplnilo ustanovenie, ktorým sa zavádza povinnosť zamestnávateľov s viac ako 49 zamestnancami poskytovať príspevok na športovú činnosť dieťaťa zamestnanca. Príspevok je stanovený vo výške 55 % z oprávnených výdavkov, maximálne však do výšky 275 € ročne na všetky deti zamestnanca.
Okrem toho sa vzhľadom na špecifiká pracovných pomerov vo vysokoškolskom prostredí ustanovila možnosť predĺženia alebo opätovného dohodnutia pracovného pomeru na určitú dobu s vysokoškolským učiteľom, tvorivým zamestnancom výskumu a vývoja, rektorom alebo s prorektorom.

Global Politics of Welsh Patagonia
A necessary examination of Wales and its Patagonian settlement Y Wladfa through a decolonial lens. Inspired by decolonial thinking, Global Politics of Welsh Patagonia challenges romantic images of Y Wladfa, the Welsh Patagonian settlement founded in 1865. Drawing on archival sources written in Spanish, Welsh, and English, it exposes the complex human relationships of this settler colony and disrupts the myth of Welsh?Indigenous friendship by foregrounding Indigenous experience and revealing underrepresented accounts in the record. A newly developed framework applies three logics?possession, racialization/barbarization, and assimilation?to make sense of settler colonialism in Patagonia and to debate Wales?s complex position as both colonized and colonizer. A new analysis of contemporary cultural products (television, film, textbooks) further demonstrates how the romantic view continues to shape racial stereotypes today, concluding that such settler-origin countries as Wales are vital sites of decolonial debate.
Communication Against Capital
Communication against Capital explores the revolutionary communication strategies of the pergerakan merah, the anticolonial "red movement" in 1920s Indonesia. Rianne Subijanto tells the story of ordinary lower-class women and children and people of diverse races and ethnicities who waged their battles against Dutch colonialism within multiple arenas of communication, including political associations, assemblies, printed matter, schools, and shipping lines. Existing communication technologies were repurposed into mechanisms of struggle and used as weapons in anticolonial and anticapitalist resistance. In this process, communist ideas merged with ideals drawn from the Enlightenment to shape the emancipatory spirit of Indonesians. This red enlightenment motivated the production of revolutionary communication strategies of mobilization. Subijanto's innovative work shows that the novel techniques of the pergerakan merah served to shift anticolonial mobilization in Indonesia from warfare to modern forms of communication.

Churches of Hertfordshire
Although Hertfordshire is one of the smaller counties of England, it is well populated with numerous historical towns and other settlements. St Albans Abbey?s influence spread throughout the county but the county has a wealth of other interesting mediaeval churches, including at Hemel Hempstead and St Michael?s in St Albans. Later periods are well represented too, including two often overlooked 17th century Gothic Survival churches at Buntingford and Oxhey, the important Greek Revival church at Ayot St Lawrence, others from the Victorian period (including Ayot St. Peter which was influential on the Arts and Crafts movement), and St. Martin?s, Knebworth, by Sir Edwin Lutyens from just before the First World War. The monuments, stained glass, screens and other furnishings found within the churches are just as interesting, ranging from a Saxon crucifix to a window from 2013. The county''s churches are also particularly rich in corbels and other similar carvings which are often hidden from the casual viewer, but when seen close-up are revealed as fine examples of folk art, ranging from handsome to humorous to hideous and back again. The "Battlin'' Bastards" of B Company, 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division share their harrowing Vietnam experiences, highlighting brotherhood, resilience, and the lasting impact of war on their lives.The ?Battlin? Bastards? of B Company, 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, fought daily against a well-trained and determined enemy during their tours in Vietnam, 1968?71. Before the war, these men were brothers, sons, sweethearts, husbands, and fathers. Some were athletes, some musicians. Some were just out of high school, some in established careers. There is no monolithic ?Battlin? Bastard,? but when they joined the 101st Airborne Division?one of the most highly decorated divisions in the United States Army?in Vietnam, they united, fighting for each other, and fighting to return safely home. It was difficult to put their experiences behind them. As Bravo veteran, Terry Taylor, recalled, ?I learned at the age of 18 that you don?t have to die to go to hell. Vietnam was hell on earth.? And yet despite the obstacles, many of these men built successful lives post-war. Decades after returning from the war, when the men were ready to cautiously revisit their experiences, the Bastards started stateside reunions.From these reunions came the wish to share their stories with the world, to honor, to educate, and to inspire. The result is this book, written from interviews and diligent archival research, in which the surviving ?Battlin? Bastards? tell their stories of combat in their own words, and honor those who ?sacrificed for their country and their unit.?
High Pasture Cave
High Pasture Cave served as a significant site for ritual activities and communal events from the Neolithic thought the Scottish Iron Age.High Pasture Cave, located on the island of Skye, Scotland, occupies a liminal location on the very edge of a settlement, and appears to have been a focus for specific and special activities. Its extended period of use is indicated by ephemeral signs of Neolithic Activity, limited Bronze Age usage, and vast artefactual and environmental assemblages recovered dating to the Early to Middle Scottish Iron Age, c. 800 BC to AD 150. High Pasture Cave details the research-led excavations at the cave and its context in the landscape, including geology and stratigraphy, the use and transformation of the cave from the Neolithic, post-Medieval activity after the site?s closure, chronology and radiocarbon dating, the human remains, and stable isotope analysis. The examination of the site indicates that the High Pasture Cave Complex was a special place, a focus for significant communal events, for undertaking ritual and special activities, and a place for deposition of significant objects ? a place whose significance remained embedded in social memory long after active use ceased. These findings challenge our current understanding with regards to cave use and function, and with relation to the wider understanding of Iron Age cultural and religious beliefs.
The Crimean Offensive, 1944
By October 1943, the German 17th Army had been forced to retreat from the Kuban bridgehead across the Kerch Strait to Crimea. During the following months, the Red Army pushed back the German forces in the southern Ukraine. In November 1943, they eventually cut off the land-based connection of 17th Army through the Perekop Isthmus. Hitler prohibited a sea evacuation of 17th Army because he thought the Red Army could use the Crimean Peninsula to launch air attacks against Romanian oil refineries.In November 1943, the Russian launched a massive amphibious assault at two locations on the eastern coast of the Crimea, but its units were unable to prevent an Axis counterattack that collapsed the southern bridgehead. The Red Army held the bridgehead at Yenikale, from which they launched further offensive operations, culminating in a huge offensive in April 1944. Although the 17th Army bitterly contested every bit of ground, it was unable to stop the advance. Soviet forces reached Kerch on April 11, forcing the 17th Army to retreat towards Sevastopol. The remaining Axis forces in the Crimea were concentrating around the city by the end of the third week of April.The Germans intended to hold Sevastopol as a fortress, as the Russians had done between 1941 and 1942. However, the fortifications of the city had not been restored and the city fell on 9 May. From mid-April, Romanian and German ships undertook a huge and complex evacuation operation. The last phase of the evacuation, following the fall of Sevastopol, saw 37,000 troops transported under constant attacks from Soviet aircraft and shore artillery. Overall around 57,000 men were lost during the evacuation.Fully illustrated with rare and unpublished photos, this is a detailed account of the dogged attempt to retake the Crimea in 1943–44.
The Last Invasion
Brings popular stories of Welsh women and their bravery during the French invasion of 1797 into the light. This study presents a cultural history of the French invasion of Pembrokeshire in 1797, using primary sources both in English and Welsh to debate how the invasion is remembered and assess its historical and cultural imprint. What is now known as ?the last invasion of Britain? terrorized the people in and around Fishguard, though the French surrendered, mostly a result of their own unruliness and the fury of the locals than any French military shortcomings. Almost immediately, stories of women in red livery appeared in propaganda and travel accounts, and subsequently acts of individual heroism. Jemima Nicholas, who plied her trade as a cobbler and shoemaker in Fishguard at the time of the invasion, later became celebrated for her heroism in singlehandedly capturing twelve Frenchmen and marching them to captivity. She was remembered as a "tall, stout, masculine female" with pitchfork in hand, who Nonconformist ministers thought was too fond of her beer. She became an iconic figure, an example of female fortitude and independence, praised by suffragettes and women in public life in Wales. The telling and retelling of this story peaked at times of fear of invasion and war?be it against Napoleon, the Kaiser, or Hitler?and, resilient to public doubt and professional scorn, the ?legend? of the women survived into popular memory.
