Publikace Skryté půvaby českých sídlišť vznikla v rámci výzkumného cíle Moderní architektura 20. století, dílčí cíl VI. 3 Urbanistické celky, financovaného z institucionální podpory dlouhodobého koncepčního rozvoje výzkumné organizace (IP DKRVO) poskytnuté NPÚ Ministerstvem kultury ČR. Výzkum sídlišť umožnil přispět odkrýváním hodnot k jejich hlubšímu poznání a rehabilitaci. Ministerstvo kultury, které dosud tvrdošíjně odmítá přiznat sídlištím kulturně-historickou hodnotu, umožňuje svými granty alespoň jejich výzkum.
Kniha je rozdělena do čtyř základních částí. První úvodní část naznačí, kde se mohou na sídlištích vůbec skrývat nějaké půvaby a jak je možné, že nám tak dlouho zůstávaly skryty. Druhá část, studie, je rozdělena do tří kapitol mapujících vývoj ideí a podoby sídlišť, vliv stavebníka a doby na jejich kvalitu, památkově chráněných sídlišť a sídlišť v památkovém zájmu. Vývoj idejí a podob hromadné bytové výstavby seznamuje s předchůdci dnešních sídlišť, zamýšlí se nad množstvím podobných znaků slohů prosazovaných totalitními režimy a jejich většinovou oblíbeností a nad nižší mírou přijetí sídlišť vybudovaných na principech funkcionalismu podle zásad Athénské charty a analyzuje možné příčiny tohoto stavu, představuje vývoj a základní typy domovních dispozic. Analyzuje vliv stavebníků, jimiž byli stát, města, podniky a družstva, na kvalitu návrhu obytných souborů a jejich realizace. Druhá část je zakončena přehledem tuzemských souborů a objektů hromadného bydlení v průřezu 20. stoletím, které mají státem garantovanou památkovou ochranu. Doplněny jsou o soubory, které mají srovnatelné kvality, ale chráněny nejsou. Chronologické řazení poskytuje představu, která období jsou doceněna a která nikoliv. Objektivizace hodnocení je dosaženo srovnáním s odpovídajícími chráněnými a ceněnými soubory sousedních zemí - Slovenska, Polska a Německa.

Középkori templomok a Kárpát-medencében
Árpád népe a honfoglaláskor olyan kultúrföldre érkezett, amely a rómaiaknak köszönhetően jelentős építészeti múlttal rendelkezett. A magyar állam történetének első 300 évében a templomok emelése volt a legfontosabb építőművészeti tevékenység.
Szent István király törvénykönyvben rendelte el, hogy "minden 10 falu építsen egy templomot". Ez a törvény - templomok és székesegyházak építésével, püspöki székhelyek és apátságok alapításával - a magyarországi szakrális építészet fénykorát jelentette. A templomok nem csak a hitéletet szolgálták, vasárnaponként itt gyűlt össze a lakosság, a messziről jövőt a templom tornya igazította útba, támadások esetén
pedig védelmezte a közösséget.
A román kori építmények az antik római építészet magas technikai színvonalát tükrözik. Jellemzője, hogy a falak vastagok, többnyire kőből épültek, az ablakok lőrésszerűek, félkörzáródásúak, és gyakori az oszlopokkal tagolt kettős vagy hármas ikerablak alkalmazása. A templombelsőt freskókkal, faragványokkal, szobrokkal díszítették.
A babona és a varázslat helyébe a liturgia lépett, melynek a templom lett a színhelye.
A művészet a "szegények bibliája" lett, írni és olvasni a nép, sőt az előkelőek nagy része sem tudott. A falképek elbeszélték a bibliai eseményeket és a keresztény erkölcs tanait.
A tatárjárás után IV. Béla király a nyugati határszéli és felvidéki városokba német bevándorlókat telepített. Ők a közvetítői az új stílusnak, a gótikának. A vastag falak helyett karcsú, égbe nyúló oszlopok, nagyobb ablaknyílások és a falakon kívüli támpillérek jellemzik a gótikát.
A műemlékvédelem Magyarországon a XIX-XX. században vált fontossá. Az épített örökség megóvása, felújítása volt a legfontosabb cél, melynek köszönhetően ma is megcsodálható számos középkori templom és templomrom.
