August Sander
August Sander (1876-1964) was a documentary photographer whose greatest project lasted his entire working life. His series of portrait studies of the German people spanned three eras - the German Empire, the Weimar Republic and Nazi Germany - and every social class, combining to form a fascinating social mirror of the country over a tumultuous period in its history. Nobuyoshi Araki: Polarnography
In a limited edition of 1,000, nestled in a jewelry-box-proportioned precious object itself protected by a larger canvas and acetate container, 100 never-before-published Polaroids, taken by erotic master Nobuyoshi Araki (born 1940), divide their surfaces between images of women and images of the sky. Polarnography collects these objects, box and photographs, in perfect facsimile of their originals. Fotograf Adolf Rossi
Adolf Rossi (19202000) patří k mimořádně zajímavým osobnostem české amatérské fotografie 20. století. Přestože jeho dílo se více méně uzavřelo před více jak padesáti lety, nevznikla doposud žádná autorova monografie, která by představila obrovskou šíři jeho tvorby. Rossiho dílo bylo totiž ovlivněno jak piktorialismem počátku minulého století, tak avantgardou, ale i dobově populární fotografií všedního dne.
Výjimečné místo v dějinách české fotografie má však Adolf Rossi z jiného důvodu. Od počátku totiž svoji tvorbu vztahoval spíše k zahraničí a k mezinárodním fotografickým salonům, které obesílal s nevídanou intenzitou a zápalem. Za dvacet let se účastnil více jak devíti set soutěží a dosáhl na nich mimořádných úspěchů. Tarkovsky - Films, Stills, Polaroids & Writings
Andrey Tarkovsky was the most important Russian filmmaker of the post-war era, and one of the world's most renowned cinematic geniuses. He directed the first five of his seven films - Ivan's Childhood, Andrei Rublev, Solaris, Mirror and Stalker - in the Soviet Union, but in 1982 defected to Italy, where he made Nostalgia. His final film, The Sacrifice, was produced in Sweden in 1985. Tarkovsky's films are characterized by metaphysical themes, extended takes, an absence of conventional dramatical structure and plot, and a dream-like, visionary style of cinematography. They achieve a spiritual intensity and transcendent beauty that many consider to be without parallel.

Martin Parr: Beach Therapy
During his long career as a photographer, Martin Parr has always photographed on beaches, particularly in the UK. He has often used the beach as a laboratory to experiment with new cameras and techniques. So far example, when he changed from black and white to medium format colour in the early 80s his first major project was about New Brighton, a run down seaside resort near Liverpool.
In recent months he has started exploring the beach with the aid of a telephoto lens. This lens is rarely used in the world of art and documentary photography so it is a challenge to find new ways of using it. Often this involves incorporating the vegetation on the perimeter with the beach as a backdrop, both in and out of focus.
So over his long career he has tried everything from a close up macro lens, a medium format wide angled camera and finally this latest offering with the telephoto.
