Kniha vznikla jako výsledek autorčiny dlouholeté badatelské činnosti. Jde o dílo neobyčejně precizní, novátorské a zajímavé. Autorka vytvořila řadu nových způsobů členění či třídění pramenů. Stála před otázkami, na něž současná sfragistika prakticky nenabízí odpovědi. Prolínání středověké a novověké sfragistiky v jednom příspěvku je unikátní.
Pečeť, jak správně uvádí, není ve svém užití osamocena, ale stojí ruku v ruce s diplomatikou, paleografií, heraldikou a v neposlední řadě s dějinami umění. To vše dokázala vhodně skloubit a zakomponovat do své práce. Neomezuje se přitom na stručnou popisnost, doplněnou případně jednoduchou kvantifikací, ale přistupuje k rozboru podstatně hlouběji.
Nejprve věnuje pozornost terminologii, poté již jednotlivým obvyklým znakům. Tento základní rozbor dále prohlubuje v kapitole o heraldice na pečetích, a o jejich ikonografii. Kapitola věnovaná písemnostem, k nimž byly pečeti připojovány, je zároveň sondou do klášterní či řádové diplomatiky.

Po dobu trvání první světové války "pomáhaly v boji" tisíce druhů úderných plakátů, z nichž zúžený výběr s důrazem na ty vytvořené ve Velké Británii a USA, představuje předkládaná monografie. Ve spolupráci s Vojenským ústředním archivem Praha je vydána zajímavá publikace, která svým rozsahem a zaměřením nemá v celé naší historii obdoby. Dosud se objevovaly pouze překlady knih na toto téma sepsaných v zahraničí.
Ve znamení dvojitého V
Autor objasňuje pojem "wervolf" pocházející z německé mytologie, podle něhož se nazývala také podvratná německá organizace (Wehrwolf), která vznikla v českém severním pohraničí koncem druhé světové války. Čtenář se dozví o průběhu konkrétních sabotážních akcí této organizace, které byly namířené nejen proti Čechům, ale také proti odlišně smýšlejícím Němcům. Autor se věnuje i postavení německé menšiny na našem území před vypuknutím druhé světové války, aby následně popsal také osudy sudetských Němců po odsunu z Československa.
V příloze se vyskytují známé (Mnichovská dohoda), méně známé i vyloženě vzácné dokumenty jako například přísaha, zákony, značky Wehrwolfu, mapa výskytu skupin této organizace a chronologie jejích akcí. Nechybí celá řada dobových fotografií, plánků a důležitých listin.

„Vedecká ideológia je evidentne nepochopením metodologických požiadaviek a pracovných možností vedy,“ píše v knihe Ideológia a racionalita v dejinách vied o živote francúzsky filozof vedy a lekár Georges Canguilhem, žiak Gastona Bachelarda a učiteľ Michela Foucaulta. Popritom si kladie aj ďalšie otázky: Čo sú vedecké ideológie a ako sa líšia od antivedy, povery či pseudovedy? Aký je ich vzťah k ekonomickým, politickým a náboženským ideológiám? Čo odlišuje vedecké ideológie od ideológií vedcov? Je vedecká ideológia iba prekážkou, alebo môže byť aj podmienkou utvárania vedy? Aký je vzťah medzi ideológiou a vedeckou racionalitou? Z poddaného šlechticem – tak lze stručně opsat životní příběh Jiřího Albrechta Zbudovského z Rovné Hory (*1604), kteý se z poddanských poměrů přžes vrchnostenskou službu vyšvihl až na erbovního měšťana pražské Malé Strany a úředníka desk zemských. Nobilitován byl i jeho zeť a kolega Jan Adalbert Malý z Tulechova. Oba muži zachovali potomstvu cenné svědectví – rodinné paměti, tedy pamětní zápisky převážně o rodinných událostech. V pamětech Malých z Tulechova pokračovaly ještě další dvě generace potomků (až do 1737). Oba rukopisy jsou v plném znění zpřístupněny v této publikaci. Edice je doprovozena úvodními studiemi, přinášejícími nejen plastické biografie příslušníků obou rodin, ale také hlubší „kulturně antropologický“ vhled do jejich každodennosti a mentality prostřednictvím zmapování přechodových rituálů, které rámovaly životní etapy lidí raného novověku (křest, biřmování, svatba, pohřeb).
