Slovensko v 20. storočí
Monografia Slovensko v 20. storočí Ľubomíra Liptáka, slovenského historika európskeho formátu, vyšla po prvý raz v roku 1968. Už o rok sa však stala kvôli odvážnym myšlienkam pre normalizačný režim neakceptovateľnou a väčšina nákladu bola skartovaná. Z publikácie sa nesmelo citovať a pre ďalšiu generáciu historikov a čitateľov zostala neprístupná. Odvtedy nestratila nič na svojej aktuálnosti, o čom svedčí jej niekoľko ďalších vydaní po roku 1989. Ide o výnimočnú syntézu slovenských dejín, ktorá sleduje premeny Slovenska od prelomu storočí v Rakúsko-Uhorsku, cez prvú svetovú vojnu a vznik Československa, medzivojnový vývoj, vojnový štát aj povojnovú premenu na komunistickú totalitu.

Al-Ghazali on Proper Conduct for Reciting the Qur?an is the eighth chapter/book of Abu Hamid al-Ghazali’s magnum opus, the Revival of the Religious Sciences (Ihya ulum al-din), a monumental work of classical Islam written by the renowned theologian-mystic Abu Hamid al-Ghazali (d. 1111). In this Book of the Revival, after establishing the pre-eminence of the Qur’an and of those who are devoted to its recitation (Chapter One), Ghazali outlines the outer proper conduct for recitation of the Qur’an (Chapter Two): the state of the reciter; the quantity of recitation; properly dividing the recitation; manner of writing; measured recitation; weeping while reciting; giving the verses their proper due; what to say before, during and on finishing one’s recitation; reciting aloud and beautifying one’s recitation.Ghazali then proceeds to identify the inner actions while reciting the Qur’an (Chapter Three): understanding the grandeur of the Speech; venerating the Speaker; maintaining presence of heart; contemplation; striving to understand; ridding oneself of barriers to understanding; self-reference; reacting to what one reads; ascension and self-negation.In the fourth and final Chapter, Ghazali deals with an issue which continues to be a source of contention today: the problem of the permissibility of generating new interpretations of the Qur?an based on personal opinion (tafsir bi’l-ra’y).This translation of Book VIII also includes a translation of Imam Ghazali’s own Introduction to the Revival of the Religious Sciences which gives the reasons that caused him to write the work, and which gives the structure of the whole of the Revival and places each of the forty Books in the context of the others.

Countering Misinformation in Political Reporting
This book examines how journalists should deal with the growing tide of political disinformation and public scepticism towards news media. Informed by the latest research from the UK and around the world, the book draws on a series of UK-based studies over a six-year period between 2019-2024, systematically analysing over 4000 news items and sources across fact-checking sites and broadcast programming. It examines audiences through a survey of more than 1,000 people, a news diary study of 200 participants, and fourteen focus groups, in addition to interviewing some of the most prominent news editors and journalists in broadcast news. The authors look beyond disinformation emanating from online and social media platforms to identify where and how misinformation can spread across mainstream media. To enhance the legitimacy of journalism and better serve the public, they argue that news reporting should more regularly and robustly confront false and misleading information from politicians.

God, Slavery, and Early Christianity
Ancient Christians understood themselves to be enslaved to God, an attitude that affected their ethics, theology, and self-understanding. This widespread belief is made especially clear in the Shepherd of Hermas, an overlooked early Christian text written by an enslaved person, which was nearly included in the New Testament. In this book, Chance Bonar provides a robust analysis of the ancient discourses and practices of slavery found in the Shepherd of Hermas.
