Grains of Wheat
There is a kind of knowledge that is non-propositional; one variety of it can be acquired in second-person experience of another person, but it can also be transmitted through narratives. This narratively mediated kind of knowledge can be significant for philosophical and theological reflection. Biblical narratives have prompted detailed reflection for so many centuries because they offer profound insights into the nature of the human condition and human flourishing. This book brings together detailed examinations of narratives in the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament to yield one large, emergent story, which has something to teach that can be missed when the stories are taken in isolation from one another. These are the stories of Job, Samson, Abraham, Mary of Bethany, the temptations of Christ, the passion of Christ, and the story from the book of Ecclesiastes. Taken together, these narratives depict a possible world in which there is a good for suffering human beings that outweighs their suffering and that could not be gotten without the suffering, not even in a world without the Fall. On this emergent larger story, human suffering is defeated, and peace and joy in human life are possible.
Kaga and Akagi
A pictorial guide to Akagi and Kaga, two early Japanese aircraft carriers that were sunk at the Battle of Midway. Akagi and Kaga were the second and third aircraft carriers to enter service with the Imperial Japanese Navy. Judikatúra vo veciach M&A (Mergers and acquisitions law) je prvou publikáciou na slovenskom právnickom knižnom trhu, ktorá prináša systematický prehľad rozhodovacej činnosti Najvyššieho súdu SR, Ústavného súdu SR, Najvyššieho súdu ČR, Ústavného súdu ČR a niektorých krajských súdov Slovenskej republiky z oblasti práva M&A.
Publikácia zahŕňa 111 autorsky spracovaných publikovaných a nepublikovaných rozhodnutí a vyše 170 rozhodnutí pripojených vo forme odkazov k jednotlivým spracovaným rozhodnutiam, v ktorých boli vyjadrené rovnaké alebo obdobné právne názory na riešenú problematickú alebo v praxi spornú otázku z oblasti práva M&A.
Obsahom tejto zbierky sú rozhodnutia týkajúce sa predzmluvnej fázy a due diligence, platnosti a neplatnosti akvizičnej zmluvy z rôznych právnych dôvodov, odkladacích podmienok, vyhlásení a záruk (R&W), výpovede nájomnej zmluvy pri zmene vlastníka nebytových priestorov a ďalších dôležitých otázok, ktoré sa často v praxi v súvislosti s M&A transakciami vyskytujú.
Odôvodnenia obvykle rozsiahlych súdnych rozhodnutí sú zredukované len na vecne relevantnú časť odôvodnenia vysvetľujúcu riešený právny problém, prípadne úplne absentujú v prípade rozhodnutí, ktorých závery sú všeobecne aplikovateľné.

Přičitatelnost vědění o právně významných okolnostech právnickým osobám
Soukromé právo v řadě případů váže právní následky na vědomost osoby o právně významných okolnostech. Je-li právní norma, která spojuje vznik, změnu či zánik práv a povinností s věděním, aplikovatelná i na právnické osoby, je pro její použití zapotřebí zjistit, zda má právnická osoba rozhodnou znalost, či nikoli. Tato publikace se pokouší nalézt strukturovaný soubor pravidel, s jejichž pomocí bude možné otázku vědění právnické osoby o právně významných faktech v českém právu řešit.
Podle zde představeného modelu je právnické osobě primárně přičitatelné vědění subjektů, které za ni v otázkách, pro něž je toto vědění významné, rozhodovaly jako členové jejích orgánů nebo právně jednaly coby její zástupci. Právnické osobě jsou ovšem v souladu s koncepcí navrhovanou v tomto textu přičitatelné rovněž znalosti tzv. kvaziorgánů, tedy těch, kdo v předmětné záležitosti vykonávali v rámci právnické osoby rozhodovací pravomoc, aniž byli členy jejích orgánů nebo jejími zástupci. V případech, kdy je aplikována právní norma, jež váže následky na normativní (právně konstruované) vědění, a spokojuje se tedy s tím, že subjekt o určité skutečnosti měl vědět, pak na právnickou osobu dopadá povinnost k řádnému nastavení vnitřních informačních procesů.
Je-li tomu tak, lze právnické osobě přičítat též vědění dalších subjektů, které sice za právnickou osobu nerozhodovaly ani ji nezastupovaly, avšak v řádně uspořádané právnické osobě by získané informace předaly těm, kdo danými kompetencemi nadáni jsou. Právnická osoba se tak v případě použití normy pracující s právně konstruovaným věděním nemůže dovolávat neznalosti členů svých orgánů, kvaziorgánů a zástupců o rozhodné okolnosti, pokud je tato neznalost důsledkem porušení její povinnosti k řádnému nakládání s informacemi.
