Písanie Andrewa McMillana je surové a naliehavé. Jeho básne fungujú ako chválospevy mužského tela - mužského priateľstva a mužskej lásky -, sú plné svalov, občas šokujú, vždy sú však hlboko dojemné. Andrew McMillan (1988) je jeden z najvýraznejších autorov súčasnej mladej britskej poézie. Vydal tri zbierky básní - telo (2015), čas hier (2018) a pandemonium (2021). Za svoju tvorbu získal množstvo významných cien. V súčasnosti pripravuje vydanie svojho debutového románu.

Poukahangatus

Soubor 23 básní zavádí čtenáře do tragikomického světa absurdity, chytrého humoru a nezapře autorskou věrnost podivuhodným postavičkám trudného vzezření i údělu. The bard Saghimbay Orozbaq uulu composed his oral telling of the great Central Asian Manas epic in the early twentieth century, although it draws on far older sources. This vivid episode from his narrative tells the bravura story of an uncertain new khan, Boqmurun, who holds a great feast to commemorate his predecessor, Koekoetoey. From east and west, warriors and their turbulent retinues come to compete in horse races, jousting and wrestling, and soon insults are hurled and scores settled violently. Yet none can beat the supreme hero, the mighty, truculent Manas. By turns earthy, stirring, bombastic and funny, Saghimbay's work stands as a monument to the oral culture of a nomadic people.

Denník z väzenia
Denník z väzenia Ho Či Min napísal počas obdobia, keď bol väznený v niekoľkých väzniciach v Číne za režimu Čankajšeka od augusta roku 1942 do konca roku 1943. Zbierka básní obsahuje 133 básní vo Wen-jene (Wenyan) v starovekých čínskych znakoch, ktoré sa vo Vietname v literárnych kruhoch používali prakticky až do roku 1945. V jeho veršoch sa skrýva nielen odvaha a húževnatosť básnika, ale aj schopnosť pokojne čeliť nebezpečenstvu, či smrti, ako aj jeho večný optimizmus. Verše za takých okolností mohol napísať iba duševne silný človek. Zbierka básní bola preložená do 35 jazykov. V roku 1990 UNESCO ocenilo Ho Či Mina nielen ako Hrdinu hnutia národného oslobodenia, ale aj ako znamenitú Osobnosť kultúry. V staročínskom klasickom štýle verše, strohé lakonické výrazy, na druhej strane obohatené silnými emóciami z vietnamčiny do slovenčiny preložila slovenská vietnamistka Eva Antoshchenko Múčková.
