Ak máme hovoriť o najvýznamnejších vynálezoch ľudstva, nemožno sa nepristaviť pri kolese. Samo osebe je dokonalé. Nič z neho nevytŕča a nič mu nechýba. Avšak vynájsť ho nebolo ľahké. Platón hovoril, že základné stavebné kamene sveta sú hranaté a moderný výskum túto jeho domnienku potvrdzuje. Dôkaz si môže každý opatriť sám. Stačí udrieť do steny kladivom a potom sa lupou pozrieť na výsledok – praskliny v omietke budú hranaté, nie okrúhle. Objaviť kruhy v prírode sa dalo iba na hladine v podobe prchavých spomienok vody a odvekej Luny na nočnej oblohe. Nuž, ale kto mal čas pri všetkých tých stresoch evolúcie dívať sa dole alebo hore? V prvom rade inžinieri, ktorí koleso skonštruovali a zbohatli na ňom. A, prirodzene, chudobní básnici, ktorí o kolese odjakživa skladali básne. Trebárs aj o tom piatom. Lebo aj ono je dokonalé. A môže byť aj rezervné.
