Môj rok 1966
Tento rok prináša množstvo kľúčových momentov. Filmová vlna oslavuje úspech: získavame prvého Oscara za Obchod na korze a do kín prichádza film Ostře sledované vlaky, ocenený zlatou soškou o dva roky neskôr. Hudobná scéna žije prvým ročníkom festivalu Bratislavská lýra, začína sa výstavba pražského metra, novinkou je rodinný dom Šumperák a nad všetkým bdie cenzúra. Vo svete súperia o vesmír ZSSR a USA a majstrovstvá sveta vo futbale v Anglicku vyhráva (po prvý a zároveň posledný raz) domáci tím.
Môj rok 1956
Búrlivé zvraty v politike, strach z ďalšej vojny, povodne, ale aj rozmach priemyslu a rast životnej úrovne, prebúdzanie sa kultúry. O roku 1956 rozhodne nemôžeme povedať, že bol nudný. Práve naopak. Nikita Chruščov na XX. Zjazde KSSZ definitívne pochoval stalinizmus. Životná úroveň pomaly rastie... Dediny ale straší kolektivizácia. Kultúrne prostredie sa postupne uvoľňuje a pripravuje pôdu na väčšie zmeny v nasledujúcom desaťročí.
Môj rok 1986
Vo vzduchu už cítiť blížiacu sa zmenu. Sloboda nenápadne klope na dvere, je ju ale ešte skôr cítiť, než vidieť. Nádej už mala aj tvár aj meno: Michail Gorbačov. A do toho najväčšia katastrofa posledných desaťročí. Výbuch v Černobyľskej jadrovej elektrárni. Závan nových čias je azda najviac cítiť v kultúre. Na Slovensku vznikajú dodnes v mnohom neprekonané hudobné diela - Po schodoch či Tlaková níž od Richarda Müllera a Banketu či Tanečnice z Lúčnice a Kráľovná bielych tenisiek od Elánu.

Kniha poeticky nazvaná Sen o zemi hojnosti se zaobírá problematikou fantaskních představ pozdně středověkých lidí, intelektuálů, šlechticů, měšťanů i obyčejných sedláků, o světě, v němž panuje dostatek a nadbytek, o světě věčného mládí, kde lidé nestárnou a nic je nebolí. Jejím ústředním tématem je svět naruby, v němž má vše podobu dokonalého opaku. Na místo hladu zde létají pečená prasata a grilované husy přímo do pusy, v potocích teče pivo a víno, vařené ryby vyskakují rovnou na talíř. V roce 1942 došlo v Příbrami k tragické události. Na základě udání byli z malicherných důvodů zatčeni a krátce nato popraveni ředitel reálného gymnázia dr. Josef Lukeš, student Antonín Stočes a jeho otec Vojtěch Stočes. Tato událost se stala hned po válce námětem pro Jana Drdu, který ji literárně zpracoval v povídce Vyšší princip. Z povídky pak vycházel slavný stejnojmenný film, natočený roku 1960. To představuje jednu z linií poválečného uchopení tohoto příběhu. Druhou se stalo pátrání po udavači, resp. udavačích. Od poloviny šedesátých let minulého století se vyšetřování odvíjelo v režii Státní bezpečnosti. Byl odsouzený Miroslav Červenka skutečně jediným viníkem smrti tří lidí, které dobře znal? Nebo to byl jen omezený, naivní mladík podléhající fatálnímu vlivu svého staršího spolužáka, který se za okupace „dal k Němcům“?

Český rozvod s c.a k. monarchií
V létě 1914 vstupovala rakousko-uherská armáda do války naplněná optimismem. V nových uniformách a s kapelami, které vyhrávaly Zachovej nám, Hospodine či Radeckého marš, ovšem ozývaly se i melodie velkoněmecké. Po čtyřech letech válčení však Rakousko-Uhersko z mapy Evropy zmizelo. Změnila se přitom i česká politika. Na počátku války nebyla v českých zemích významnější politická strana, která by se programově zasazovala o samostatný stát. Teprve zvýšený tlak militaristických kruhů, který zbortil demokratické instituce v rakouské části monarchie, a sbližování Rakouska s prušáckým Německem přivedly českou politickou reprezentaci (domácí i exilovou) na cestu k samostatnosti.
Čeští zástupci odmítli nesmělé pokusy císaře Karla na federalizaci Rakouska a prostřednictvím skupiny kolem T. G. Masaryka, jež organizovala československé legie, získali podporu dohodových státníků. Na konci října 1918, ve chvílích, kdy „stát československý vstoupil v život“, už zase vyhrávaly v ulicích kapely: namísto rakouských vojenských pochodů zněly melodie Františka Kmocha.

První svazek publikace V objetí zrady se soustředí na události z doby nacistické a komunistické diktatury, včetně méně prozkoumaného poválečného období let 1945–1948. Kniha nabízí detailní a demytizující pohled na dění ve Zlíně a okolí, přičemž na konkrétních příkladech ukazuje, že ne každý, kdo se po válce prezentoval jako vlastenec, jím skutečně byl. The Soul of a Folklorist
In the 1960s, '70s, and '80s, the US saw a growing awareness of representational politics following the civil rights, women's, gay and lesbian, anti-war, and environmental justice movements, and, like most fields, folklore became increasingly cognizant of these cultural and political shifts. The Soul of a Folklorist chronicles the growing pains folklorists felt as the field engaged in these new and different ways of thinking about expressive culture, inequality, and political representation. Grounded in primary sources including archival documents and interviews with members of the field, authors Ann K. Ferrell and Diane E. Goldstein examine the discussions that arose during this period among folklore scholars. Some folklorists explored progressive social change initiatives as part of their professional work, while others questioned the scholarly appropriateness of applied or political engagement, at times challenging this professional engagement in contemporary political issues. In a series of case studies from the 1970s and '80s, Ferrell and Goldstein explore how folklorists navigated questions about inequities that existed within the field and the potential adverse effects of those inequities on what and whom they studied, the push and pull of scholarly and public folklore work, the location of the line between research and advocacy as well as the wisdom of crossing that line, and the nature of our responsibility, as individual folklorists and as a field, to those we study and the communities in which we live and work.
