Dějiny kapitalismu I.
Kniha přibližuje v širokých historických, politických a ideologických souvislostech vznik a vývoj kapitalismu od poloviny prvního tisíciletí našeho letopočtu do počátků průmyslové revoluce na sklonku 18. století. Z obchodních aktivit podél Hedvábné stezky, které se staly základem orientální globalizace, se zrodila latentní forma kapitalismu, jejíž protagonisté neměli přímý podíl na politické moci. Tato varianta se prosadila ve velkých asijských říších - v Číně, Indii, Persii - i v raně novověkém Španělsku a Francii. Ve středověkých Benátkách a dalších italských městských státech se naproti tomu zformoval manifestní kapitalismus, v němž si obchodní a finanční oligarchie podřídila státní aparát jako nástroj akumulace kapitálu. Manifestní kapitalismus se vyznačuje vytvořením hierarchie využívaných periférií a oscilací mezi produktivní a finanční fází růstu. Jeho těžiště se v 16. století přesunulo ze severní Itálie do Amsterodamu a po roce 1688 do Londýna, odkud manifestní kapitalismus zaštítil vznik Britského impéria a jeho globálního hospodářského systému.
Martin Lupáč z Újezda
Monografie se zaměřuje na významného literáta a duchovního Martina Lupáče z Újezda († 1468), který sehrál klíčovou roli v dějinách českého utrakvismu. Kniha analyzuje jeho literární dílo, ideové postoje a historické reflexe, zejména ve vztahu k basilejským kompaktátům, které pomáhal vyjednávat a k nimž se vracel po celý zbytek života.

Páni z Hradce nebo-li také „páni zlaté růže“ patří k nejstarším a nejvýznamnějším českým a moravským panským rodům. Jejich historie se začala psát již na konci 12. století. Armády získávaly novou podobu, vznikaly moderní zbraně, měnily se taktiky i organizace, a zavedení všeobecné branné povinnosti učinilo z vojenské služby zkušenost, jež ovlivnila téměř každého muže.
Tato kniha se zaměřuje na podobu a význam vojenské služby v habsburské monarchii v „dlouhém“ 19. století. Sleduje, jak se vojenský život lišil od civilního, jaké dopady měla služba na jednotlivce i společnost a jak se armáda vyrovnávala s mimořádnou národnostní, sociální a kulturní rozmanitostí monarchie. Zkoumá každodennost vojáků – jejich výcvik, ubytování, stravu, hygienu, vztahy, zdravotní péči i střety s autoritou – a odhaluje, jak služba formovala jejich tělesnost, kázeň i identitu.
Vojenská služba byla pro mnohé muže iniciačním přechodem mezi světy – od vesnice k městu, od civilního života k přísnému řádu kasáren, od dětství a raného mládí k dospělosti. Přinášela nové zkušenosti, obzory i konflikty. Ať už byla prožívána jako povinnost, zkouška nebo příležitost, zanechávala ve svých účastnících trvalé stopy. Tento pohled na vojenství habsburské monarchie otevírá nové otázky o vztahu mezi armádou, společností a jednotlivcem v době, kdy se rodil moderní svět.
