Tato kniha přistupuje ke kosmologii starověkého Egypta a zahrnuje vnitřní a vnější politické a ekonomické vlivy na postavení božstev a jejich mýtů. Panzerdivision Wiking: Konečný boj 1943 - 1945
V roce 1943 se Německo vzpamatovává z porážky u Stalingradu a v divizi Wiking probíhají velké změny. Odchází prapor finských dobrovolníků a poté i celý pluk Nordland. Felixe Steinera na postu velitele divize nahradí Herbert Otto Gille, bývalý velitel dělostřeleckého pluku. Fini jsou nahrazeni Estonci z praporu Narva, kteří se projeví jako stejně nemilosrdní bojovníci. Dva pěší pluky doplní tankový pluk, avšak po celý rok 1943 a začátek roku 1944 je k dispozici pouze jeho 1. prapor vyzbrojený tanky Panzer IV. V tomto složení prožije divize Wiking těžké ústupové boje na Ukrajině. Na březích Dněpru je posílena útočnou brigádou Wallonie, jež s ní sdílí osud jednotek obklíčených u Čerkas. Následují boje v Polsku a Maďarsku, kde se divize projeví jako skvělý bojový nástroj, ale ani to na zdrcující sovětskou přesilu nestačí a vše směřuje k nevyhnutelné porážce.

V uniformě nepřítele
V průběhu druhé světové války bylo do německé branné moci nuceně mobilizováno mnoho občanů okupovaných evropských států, přestože se nejednalo o etnické Němce. Tento osud potkal i překvapivě velkou část obyvatel českých zemí. Řada z nich zůstala v německé uniformě až do konce války, jiní se službě snažili vyhnout nebo přešli do spojeneckého zajetí. Někteří dokonce ze zajateckých táborů podali přihlášku do exilových vojenských jednotek. Dobrovolně tak vstoupili pod prapory odboje, bojujícího za osvobození okupované vlasti. Podobné osudy prožíval i překvapivě velký počet obyvatel českých zemí. Po válce se ovšem jejich příběh nehodil do obecného narativu jednoduché trichotomie oběti, odboje a kolaborace. Proto byl v Evropě i v Česku přijímán s rozpaky a dlouhou dobu opomíjen, marginalizován, nebo dokonce zamlčován.

Po Titovi – Tito!
Když 4. května 1980 zemřel v lublaňské nemocnici Josip Broz Tito, ztratila socialistická Jugoslávie nejen svého zcela nesporného, ale i dosud jediného vůdce. Moc v zemi převzala skupina funkcionářů, kteří se v duchu kolektivního vedení snažili důsledně bdít nad odkazem zesnulého „otce zakladatele“, udržovat stabilitu v rámci mnohonárodnostní federace a zároveň rozvíjet vizi dalšího budování samosprávného socialismu. Monografie na základě studia především archivních pramenů představuje myšlenkový svět příslušníků této vládnoucí garnitury. Sleduje jejich přípravy na blížící se Titův odchod, stejně jako jejich první kroky a zkoušky, kterým čelili během prvních dvou let post-titovského období. Skrze tzv. aktérskou perspektivu se mimo jiné snaží ukázat, že Titovi nástupci byli daleko mnohovrstevnatěji uvažující a jednající politici, než se dosud převážně uvádělo. Tímto způsobem chce kniha přispět k odlišnému pohledu na jugoslávskou realitu z přelomu sedmdesátých a osmdesátých let, která sice vykazovala známky prohlubující se krize a celé řady dalších problémů, rozhodně ale nebyla jen prostým „tancem nad propastí“.

A második világháború a magyar társadalom jelentős részének tudatában ma is nagyrészt 1944-45-öt jelenti, a front átvonulását, a bombázásokat, az erőszakot, a deportálásokat, Budapest ostromát. Ennek megfelelően elsősorban a hadtörténetre és a politikatörténetre összpontosító feldolgozások készültek az időszakról. Az utolsó nyár című könyvében Ablonczy Balázs a hadi események mögé tekint: azt kutatja, mi történt Magyarországon abban a három nyári hónapban, amikor hirtelen felgyorsult a történelem kereke. Hogyan éltek az emberek a hétköznapokban, hogyan vészelték át a bombázásokat, a kiürítéseket, mi módon látták el magukat és családjukat.
Miközben a szövetségesek partra szállnak Normandiában és Provence-ban, kezükre jut Párizs és Róma, Varsó és Szlovákia felkel a németek ellen, Románia pedig átáll, addig Magyarország lakosai vidékre mennek, élelmiszerjegyeket pecsételtetnek, ásnak és főleg sokat gyalogolnak. Hogyan élik meg ezt a három hónapot egészen addig, amikor 1944. augusztus végén a szovjet csapatok elfoglalják az első magyarországi falut, a háromszéki Sósmezőt? A német megszállással hatalomra jutott Sztójay-kormány és a körülötte lévő politikusok, értelmiségiek hogyan képzelik el az ő országukat? Mit terveznek és mi valósul meg ebből? És vajon dobáltak-e a szövetséges repülők robbanó játékokat, engedelmeskedtek-e a lakók egy női légóparancsnoknak, és mihez kezdtek a székelyek egy tevével?
