Something New
Until recently, a wedding was no place for reinvention: everything from the location to the outfits to the language of the ceremony was decided by our particular cultures, religions and social expectations of gender and domestic roles; and of course, many of us were unable to get married at all. Now gay marriage is legal in Britain; heterosexual couples can have civil partnerships; we can get hitched in a yurt or a cave or on a rollercoaster. But the old traditions die hard, and despite these apparent new freedoms, the word ‘wedding’ still retains so many connotations, controlling our imaginations in ways that can feel alienating or limiting. When it comes to the ‘wedding poem’, even a Star Trek themed do, with guests in bumpy skull-caps, can still translate the same old Shakespeare sonnet into Klingon. Ján Maršálek (nar.1.2.1965) je autorom množstva časopisecky publikovaných príspevkov: básní, glos, esejí, recenzií. Knižne vydal niekoľko úvahovo ladených diel, v ktorých sa venuje témam časovým i nadčasovým (Cesta k bráne, Kristus prichádza, Spoločnosť bez svetla, Útek z Babylonu). Svoju doterajšiu básnickú tvorbu zhrnul do zbierok: Finta v žite (spolu s Petrom Chorvátom, 1993), Cesta z kruhu(2001), Medzi nami(2001), Privolávanie rána(2008), Priečny rez(2012).
Putovanie do Ikónia predstavuje poéziu ako sestru meditácie a modlitby, ako cestu hľadania a odkrývania krásy, obohacujúcej a očisťujúcej naše bytie. Básnik vychádza z ticha a mlčania, aby vydal svedectvo o svojej viere, o tom, čo považuje za dôležité, aby ,,vyložil slovo pre dom“ a splnil si tak svoju básnickú povinnosť. Verše sú sprevádzané ilustráciami Petra Chorváta-a v tomto spojení sa vydávajú na púť k čitateľovi.

In the late 1960s, Ntozake Shange was a student at Barnard College discovering her budding talent as a writer, publishing in her school''s literary journal, and finding her unique voice. Nejnovější Deník haiku by mohl se svými staršími bratry říct (a připomenout Karla Poláčka): „Bylo nás pět.“ Přáli bychom si slyšet, jak kterýkoli z nich přidá otázku: „A kolik nás ještě bude?“
Ne, nebuďme neskromní. Kvintet je krásný orchestřík. Ale věřme, že nezůstane u něj. Ostatně víra, ta je v Čepelkových haiku všudypřítomná.
Naopak opět ubylo žen, když už ani líbání nezabrání poznání, kam svět uhání. Leč – přestože jsou oči, které neřeknou nic, ty její ho zvou do vinic. A autor se nebojí kráčet úzkou stezkou, třeba soutěskou, jen když s hezkou Terezkou.
Toho, kdo dokáže vychutnat jeho haiku, netrápí ideály časem přejeté. Nahlédne spolu s ním do záhad, jež připravil nám Had. A pochopí, že tento tvůrce nepatří mezi hejna básníků toužících jen po svém pomníku.
Ano, můžeme uznat, že knihy jsou jen nespočetné pihy na tváři světa. Ale nebyla by bez pih fádní? Buďme vděční, že Miloň Čepelka okrášlil tvář světa celým souhvězdím pih. Je to dar, nikoli samozřejmost. Dar pro nás, že můžeme jeho knihy číst a těšit se na další. A dar i pro něj, že k němu nepřestala slétat inspirace nejen ve formě haiku.
